@kromienkeli pointed some good point about graphic it's not BG legacy. I would prefer more darker theme and accent. Surely it has some resemblance to D:OS however after going to Underdark I just embraced that shitty sentiment to BG1&2 graphic and started to love that new graphic design. , However that game is DEFENITELY BALDURS GATE. I will point out why in bullet points: - action of that game will be in F*CK*NG Baldurs Gate city. - there will be Minsc&Boo and Drizzt (already hinted in EA) - story will resolve around Bhaal, Myrkul and Bane - we got already everything what has been in BG saga (Underdark, Ilithids, Observers, Githyanki, dragons, strange undead as an ally, non-linear history and decisions which are impactful on game world, great written companions, romances, good narrative) Complaining about graphic design and lack of active pause is nonsens. I understand that because I've had the same skeptical point of view. In the end I've spent 270h+ in early access and I love it. I even played S:OD and BG1&2 recently to compare these titles with BG3 and I can honestly say that the new Baldur is not another D:OS. Only truly a worthy successor to the Baldur's Gate saga. The 3D graphics, no active pause, and starting the game on the beach may actually resemble D:OS, but those are the only similarities.

Completed the game twice in Early Access. Despite the flaws, the game has probably become one of my favorites. First of all, because of the stunningly beautiful detailed and truly fantasy world. Exploring such a beautiful and diverse world is a pleasure in itself. I hope that the shortcomings that are in the game are related to early access and will be fixed in the full version, namely: 1. Difficulty of the game. I hope there will be an easier level of difficulty, because now it is quite difficult to play, because often the enemy has 3 times more hp than you and he hits 3 times stronger than you. I was never able to kill 4 of Laezeli's relatives. 2. Endless traps. Annoy. 3. For the whole game, I got 1 mantle for a wizard of an unusual grade. The wizard (which I played) seemed to me the weakest and most useless member of the team. The most useful on the battlefield is a warrior in heavy armor. The rest of the classes hit very weakly. And finally.. If the game was made in the style of Dragon Age Inquisition, it would become a real diamond in the crown of this beautiful fantasy universe.

It was already a great game in early access, tons of fun, I'm excited to see the final release. And just like in every RPG... well in every game, ALL content is optional. And since the game is very reactive, everyone can find the play stile they prefer. We can play ourselves, we can play a better or worse version of ourselves. Or we can think of any other character and play them. This is an RPG after all. We can romance other characters or we can just ignore the whole cr@p if we don't like it. That's it.

I've never really been a fan of Turn Based RPGs. I used to play them in the 80's, but then I moved to 3rd Person and First person games. So I purchased BG3 with little prior experience except for games like Neverwinter. The story of this game is great, and the lore is expansive. The use of in-engine cutscenes to tell the story is refreshing, and immersive. The combat is very X-Com like and not in a bad way. This game does not hold you hand very much and pretty much throws you into the thick of things. I'm only a couple of hours into the game so far, but I expect I'm already hooked. My one major gripe with the game is the poor camera control, very oftern objectives will be masked by terrain and you have no idea unless you use the camera's limited panning ability. The F1 key is great for bringing things back to view though and it helps. Backl in the old days you would have gotten a paper manual, something this game is sorely lacking.

Not sure what it is about Act but I just don't enjoy it like I enjoyed acts 1 & 2. Maybe because you suddenly can't just slaughter your way through Baldur's Gate even though the game kind of makes it seem like you'll end up doing that just trying to get into the city... It feels like a lot of plot elements fall apart in the city too or you have to do things that seem like they should have consequences but for some reason they don't where as in the rest of the game killing a random rat might even have consequences... Overall I thought Acts 1&2 were a blast though. And it felt really well thought out and designed... well except for an aspect about the map... I felt like the progression in 1&2 was well done and handled but various things fell apart in act3. As for the map, I really hate cramped convoluted but super over detailed maps. .Basically the overall size of each map is pretty small but they have "walls" all over the place to make it seem like place A and place B are really far apart even though on the map/as the crow flies A&B are next to each other. There's nothing wrong with a larger map that had some dead space in it IMO and I find it preferrable to what we have here. Also another complaint kind of. Don't bother with trying an evil play through. The game just isn't really designed to allow that in a really fun manner. It's great though as a goody-2-shoes, or even as a pragamatist, but evil.. not so much at least not if you want to also enjoy the companions
