As the title says, it is an okay entertainment for a few hours if you like soltaire types of card games. I don't think I would have paid 12 euroes for it. But I didn't had to because I got it on a giveaway.
I have spent 10+ hours with it on nightmare difficulty. I have not got to the end but I don't think I will finish either. After 10 hours I feel like I have seen everything the game has to offer and that is not a lot. Certainly not enough for me.
- The combat is very bare bone and I wouldn't consider difficult on nightmare setting. I have not lost a single battle. I have some experience in card battle games but soltair I played only on a DOS PC back in the old days. There aren't a lot of variety in enemies and their abilities. It is difficult to have when everyone, including your own character can only have 3 abilities (The protagonist has a melee dagger that seems to never change, and an offensive and defensive spell of your choice) and three consumable items.
- Story is more or less nonexistant. There is a simple explanation as to why the protagonist starts his journey but you aren't given any new info on the way. The guy just monologues about the same thing but in different words.
- The art of the characters are okay, the cards look nice in my opinion, but the background of the scenes are very simple, dull and reused, so it often fails to represent the environment the protagonist talks about.
- When it comes to music there are only a few scores but I think those did the job.
So, in conclusion it may be an intersting game for someone who likes soltaire games. You probably still want to wait for a discount.
