I loved this short but beautiful game from start to end. The drawing style, animations and soundtrack create an enthralling experience. In order to progress, you must use the right character with the right item at the right spot. Half of them are intuitive, the other half you'll get them through trial and error. This is fine because there are not that many combinations available, and even if you fail you'll get unexpected results, incluidng priceless, funny reactions and hidden achievements!
If you like NWN's action maps, you are going to love this one. Great place to enjoy your predictable dungeon crawling in pure hack and slash style. For me, the main fun here is experimenting builds, leveling and trying out different characters. However, the price tag is completely out of place. If you are lucky to catch the -80% sale, it goes down to a testimonial 0.59€... Then go for it!
I played the "classic" version of this game about ten years ago, on iOS. I loved it so much I wish they still included the older graphics, available as an option you could switch on/off. Nonetheless, the HD models are beautiful on their own and the game still has the old school feeling I prize so highly. The Quest is a magnific, grid and turn-based RPG, based on questing and exploring, both dungeons and open world. Character development is deep and customisable, with five races and pleny of skills to choose from, unrestricted. The soundtrack is charmingly beautiful and fits perfectly the atmosphere, which is filled with fantasy and a heavy dose of good humor, too. I've been very happy to buy this one on iOS, Android, Steam and now on GOG as well. At this point, I only wish more games like "The Quest" existed.
At the moment I can say this is the best chess available on Gog: it has detailed information and analysis, easy and fluid controls, challenging AI with different difficulties and it just looks awesome to me, with 7 different piece sets including a cute D&D monster one with trolls, centaurs, beholders... There is a 3D view too but, personally, I'm not too much into it. Otherwise, great release for chess lovers!
Charming adaptation of the Witcher's board game, which mainly involves traveling around the continent drawing cards, fighting monsters and ultimately solving quests for victory. Four unique characters to pick from, different approaches and plenty of choice during progression to make you feel in control - yet, the outcome relies heavily on dice throwing, which might be frustrating to some. For me, that's just another plus. Beautiful, well-written, intuitive and, despite the simple graphics, enthrallingly immersive. No two games are the same. Also includes a perfectly exlpained tutorial that will teach you the basics in record time. Everything in the smoothest controls possible: the complete journey is done with just a mouse. Well worth the price, if you ask me!
If you are browsing this game you probably know of Diablo & Torchlight. If you liked those, don't think twice and buy Fate ASAP. It delivers everything you'd expect from the ARPG genre in such a beautiful way you'll soon fall in love with it. Comfortable to play, addictive. interesting, many different builds to try out and tons of replayability with a superb soundtrack on top of it, both in town & dungeon ambience. They just don't make games like this anymore. Go for it!
Majesty is an amazing game, unique in its kind, that has aged graciously well. Many reviews here cover that perfectly. Others, however, criticize GOG's edition and compare it to Steam's. One of the main points against "Gold HD" cites incompabilities with Windows 10. Since I own both editions, my only purpose to write this review is to confirm to anyone interested that this edition works perfectly well on my system, running Windows 10, absolutely zero issues. Should you encounter any problems, I can also assure from personal experience that GOG's refund policy has you covered, and quickly. If you prefer to support GOG, buy here with confidence.
