Tyranny - Standard Edition

Best isometric rpg since Baldurs Gate

This game is just amazing. You play in a world where evil has won, the godlike figure Kyros the overlord controls every aspect of society and rules with fear - and you are one of her enforcers. Through out the game you'll experience what it means to live in a world void of morality. You get to pick a side, but none of the choices are truly "good". The combat is fun and engaging. The spell making system is a lot of fun to explore and the world is very well done. I regard the complaints of game length as being misunderstandings. If you really want to explore and try everything you will need to play it through multiple times from different angles - choosing different sides, different allies, different options. Now i do have two complaints **Spoilers** The neutral path where you are advised by the Archon of shadows (Bleden Mark) is a bit boring since your only choice is to kill everyone. The ending leaves you as a contestant to Kyros him/her self. I would much have preferred that Kyros remained an untouchable godlike figure as i think that makes the world more interesting from a moral perspective.

DOOM (1993)

It's Doom!

Come on, it's Doom - one of the most enjoyable and atmospheric shooters ever. The graphics are what you'd expect from such an old game but i still had a blast replaying it.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY Edition

The best TES game i've played.

The game world and atmosphere is amazing in this game. I'm giving it 4/5 instead of 5/5 because of the many, many bugs in it. The combat system is rather boring and bare-bones, but that's expected from a Bethesda game. You may want to install a few mods to update the graphics and fix the leveling system - try asking on the reddit forum for morrowind.

POSTAL 2

Black humor at its finest

This game is just a blast to play. Sure the graphics suck and the combat isn't thrilling but the humor is amazing. You play as the postal dude and your goal is to do daily chores for five days without dying. Every chore starts out as an innocent job but quite quickly you'll encounter angry, nasty people that are out to make your day worse. Will you take the abuse or decapitate everyone in the room with a shovel? The choice is yours. Stand in line at the bank or rob it? Play it for the humor, nothing else.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition

Good game but a bit too long

It's a fine game but at the end of it i felt like it was a bit too long and there was a lot of repetitive quests. Inventory management is a bit of a pain too and i really wish that crafted items didn't overshadow all the stuff i find.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition

Worse than the original

It fixes bugs i didn't care about and introduces bugs that i do care about. The graphics manage to be worse than the 20 year old original. The menu is a bloated mess with endless options for customization, it is difficult to navigate it. All the new content and characters feel really out of place and modding them out introduces a ton of issues since they are inter-mingled with other quests. It almost feels like Beamdog tried to force them on the player which is quite contrary to the style of the original. The game also feels easier although i cannot quite pin point why. Buying the EE does allow you to download the old gog version of the game, so your money won't be entirely wasted.

Might and Magic® 6-pack Limited Edition

The best game to play on a shitty day.

Had a bad day at work? Feeling down? Fix it all by installing MM6 and just go kill monsters. The story is so-so, but that is not really the point. It's basically Doom but with swords and sorcery. Canonically the game takes place between Heroes of might and magic II and Heroes of might and magic III, if you're a fan of these games you might learn a thing or two about the lore of these games...

Quest for Glory 1-5

First playthrough

I'm gonna give it a three, now before every fan hangs me i will explain why. The game is dated, it uses oldschool game design which is very punishing. It is rarely clear which objects can be interacted with, and death comes to you in unexpected ways. I died once by having my HP reduced to zero, and tens of times to "scripted" deaths and running out of stamina. The story is nice enough and there is a true sense of exploration and heroism in the game. This game really could use a remake i think? The quests and world are fairly well done, it is merely the engine that is lacking.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 2: Gold

Better than Homm3?

Homm 2 feels like playing in a fairy tale world. I much prefer homm2 over 3 when it comes to the single-player experience. It just feels like pure magic! The game isn't balanced, but who really cares when it comes to single player? The soundtrack is amazing and i find myself listening to it while studying, reading, playing other games - I even had it as a ring tone on my phone at some point.
