Control Ultimate Edition

Diablo with a gun

So the game is about: Go to a room. Shoot a horde of enemies. Go to another room. Sometimes the story progresses. Which is disappointingly short. This is counterbalanced by more shoot enemies in a room sessions. I've just replayed Alan Wake, and - as it was told control has some connection with it, and heralds the coming of AW2 - I foolishly bought this one expecting the same. Still. Controls are flawless. Including the camera handling. Art is concise. Graphics are great. Sounds are also. The world is interesting and well narrated. Only that this is not an action-adventure game. This is a repetitive shooter with some character development mechanics (that are unavoidable if you don't want to die every minute). They could tell this story in 30 minutes in a real adventure game. I hope AW2 will go back to the roots. Nonetheless, I'm pretty sure that this is what people want nowadays in the fortnite era.

Black Mirror

Is this some kind of a joke?

Released in 2017. With graphics from 1995. Controls that even old console ports would envy. For the price of a decent game? I want my money back :(

Short collection of puzzles

About 3 hours of gameplay which already includes a long and poorly visible minesweeper session. The story could have made this game great, but it's just a collection of (sometimes quite senseless) puzzles with mediocre controls. What I don't understand is why new adventure games are so short with the feeling of hasty production.

Syndicate Plus™

Still enjoyable

Though decades passed since its release, and UI developers invented much more convenient controls this game still worth playing. The world has a unique and immersive setting and it's just fun to play. The missions are rewarding and the possibility to research new equipment gives a good feeling of progress. I remember playing it on A500 for days virtually without any pause.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

THE HoMM game

All time classic. Heroes 4 was also good, but is was something completely different. HOMM5 was just not the same and the previous ones were less detailed, though also enjoyable. All TBS fans who fond of high fantasy must have it.

Wasteland 2 Director's Cut Digital Classic Edition

A big disappointment

I was really excited about this game, especially as the promised the new fallout 1/2. Unfortunately the only similarity between this, and the old Fargo games, especially FO2 is the insane amount of bugs in the initial release. Start with the pros: the setting is good, and the art creates a good overall atmosphere (though its not today's standards but this game is not about eye candy). Writing is also ok, the story is just enough for such a game. But that's it. :( The bad: Fighting is terribly unbalanced, this close range penalty thing on assault rifles and other long barreled weapons is just ridiculous. The system suggests a tactical flavor, but hasn't even got the depth of shadowrun returns. The combat AI is also terribly simple... With also make your NPCs "going rouge" actions suicide, as they rush into the hands of the enemy without any second thoughts. And so much more is bad with fighting... The bugs. Some quest variables don't update properly leaving the game in inconsistent state (leaving you with all your weapons confiscated for good, this is why i personally stopped playing :/) The random number generator has a resemblance to the one in temple of elemental evil, which was so much bugged that natural 20 was impossible due to a fencepost error (funny in a d20 game). Skills are totally independent from the attributes. First this makes no sense, second, this makes some attributes unnecessary (e.g. charisma, which the developers noticed really fast so they started to tell people that is is important in loading texts...). I could list the design and programming flaws all day but that's where is stop. Buy it when it is $5, no sooner.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Play the original with free mods

Original Baldur's Gate was one of the best cRPGs ever released, deserving five stars. But this is just a ripoff. Mods are available free(!) for both graphic enhancements and cut content (and extra user content as well). Considering this, such a small addition to the original game shouldn't cost more than a few bucks. The same goes for BG2 EE as well.
