It doesn't look like much and is in development, but is a unique, fun horror investigation RPG type game
I really enjoy playing this game. It reminds of a roguelike but is more static - for example every playthrough is on the same map with the same basic quests; the variation comes in with random drops, dialog outcomes, etc. Overall the game nails it on atmosphere (dark/steampunkish) and I am enjoying the learning curve as well as the difficulty. Might be a little expensive in comparison to similar games but it's worth a try if a fan of the genre.
I loaded these up expecting to reminisce about Tomb Raider on the PSX. However, I was saddened to find the PC dosbox ports aren't that. Just wasn't the same experience
With over 200 hours logged on each of the King's Bounty games I can say that I love the series. The game plays similar to Heroes of Might and Magic but perhaps more hero focused and in 3D, and pulls it off very well. Lots of units, interesting (numerous) quests and plot, and all around fun.
I tried Avernum: Escape from the Pit by chance earlier this year and was enthralled by the detail, customization (such as your entire party), and feel of the game. The Avernum series will not disappoint. Thank you once again GOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
