The DRM here is egregious. GOG, you are going back on your mission statement and removing the main driving factor for me shopping here - DRM free games. If GOG keeps negging on their stated goals then it'll be no different to any other storefront so why not just buy from Steam?
Do not buy this game. It is full of game breaking bugs and has exactly nothing to do with SoF1 and SoF2. Within the first 10 minutes of the first mission I encountered the following bugs: 1) Enemies are invincible to everything except melee attacks - unable to progress 2) Getting stuck on objects in environment - unable to move and all keys (including ESC) stop working 3) No muzzle flashes at all, can't tell when I'm firing my weapon I'm a huge SoF1 fan and I like SoF2 ok. I got this game to see just how bad it was and my conclusion is: Even if you are a die-hard SoF fan this is not worth your time even if you get it for free. Do not buy this game, it is total garbage.
This is absolutely, 100% a must-play title for any a) retro FPS fan or b) FPS fan in general. It has the most polished gameplay and level design out of any of the Build titles. I still prefer Blood but I think on paper Ion Fury has the best gameplay and maps. Don't bother reading any more reviews, just get the game and play it, there is no way you will regret it.
First two games are fantastic, the third isn't. Have a look in the forum for info on how to install expansions for both games. If you want to play DS1 I would recommend grabbing the DS2 mod that imports the map from DS1. That way you get the features from the second but with the story and enemies from the first. DS1 = 5/5 DS2 = 5/5 DS3 = 1/5
