Cold Waters

Fun casual sub sim

This is not going to be hardcore like Modern Naval Warfare (The reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars as it is a casual sub sim) is going to be like, or Dangerous Waters with the LWAMI mod, but it is still very fun. Watching the enemy subs squirm in their attempts to get rid of the torpedo you have on their tail is quite satisfying, or getting a Kirov kill or better! Good stuff! Linux users - Running Manjaro Stable with Lutris and Glorious Eggroll 7.35 as a runner.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Great Title to have on GoG

Works great. Got the Complete Widescreen mod working (Use the Vanilla version) and running at 3840x1600. It has some minor bugs with this interface, but you can work around it and I am sure the same bugs are present in the Steam version. I am sure not every mod works, especially the abandoned ones, but most do it would seem. You cannot downgrade Skyrim to an earlier version as you would be downgrading to a DRM version, so you need to learn to make them work with the version you have. That is the trade off. Hope it helps. For Linux users... Using Manjaro with Lutris and running 7.35 Glorious Eggroll for a runner.

Inscryption

Didn't expect to get hooked by it

Act 1 you must escape the cabin. You will need several lives to do this so expect to die. I went through it again to see if I could beat the game on the first go and he cheats at the 2nd boss saying too far too fast filling every single slot with grizzlies. You have to die on round 1 so just deal with it. They do this as you didn't find some critical items yet that help you play. When you win, make sure you pay attention to the last thing you did. It took me a while to understand what I had to do. Act 2 turns Nintendo 2D style. At first I didn't like it, but then you learn how to make some game breaking cards for Act 3, so then I was all in. Act 3 goes back to 3D and it is harder, but I won't say why. I think there is an Act 4 technically, but I don't think you can lose at Act 4. It does have some very interesting play styles though as you progress through it. Maybe concepts? Definitely interesting as you finally start to come to the conclusion.

Dishonored 2

Great game!

A couple of the levels have some of the best level design I have ever seen in a game, and I am an older gamer and have seen a lot! It is worth playing to see these levels alone. They are that good! Difficulty: The very hard setting feels more like normal. Can't imagine it being much fun on normal or easy. Corvo also has too much power with blink and the like. I prefer playing without powers and the game is very much playable without them - Just don't accept the Mark and you will be without them for the rest of the game. Only negatives I can think of as there are maybe one or two locations you can't reach without Blink, but everything else you can. Birds nest on top of the sanitarium comes to mind. No way you are getting up there without Blink, but nothing of much importance up there anyway to a character that doesn't need runes. You can still get to the top of the elevator in this level if you think about how to do it. You can still use Bonecharms though, just can't mod them. Minus one star for some of the woke BS, but otherwise a great game!

M1 Tank Platoon II

One of my favs from the past!

If you are using Lutris, make sure you enable 3dfx Voodoo support and have that option on in the runner config section. Note works great on Linux. Back blowing up enemy tanks, but you are going to get pummeled by missiles!

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition

UWD looks awesome on this game....

I'd post a picture if I could but 4K UWD makes it a whole new game from a graphics standpoint. The ability to see so far out too. I can see the Capitol building just after leaving the vault. I see a lot of the game will run. It does, but takes some tweaking on Windows. If you want more adventure and less hassle for the guys that can't get it running on Windows, might I suggest a Lutris / Linux install and play it there? Everything just seems to run on Linux these days with the exception of a handful of DRM titles that think you are cheating if you run things through Proton or Wine (Windows on Linux). With the release of Steam Deck, I am sure these titles will come around in due time. I find it easier to get things running on Linux these days it seems. Of course Lutris makes it easy as it does everything for you. Performance is typically near and in some cases faster than Windows. Some titles I lose 5 FPS where in a few, I gain 5 FPS. Suggestions, but by no means the only solution: Manjaro is a great gaming Linux if you want a suggestion as they are not stuck up Open Source sticklers (If you have been around Linux in the past, you know what I mean). You want proprietary drivers? They made it a one click affair to automatically install NVidia or whatever. https://manjaro.org/download/ Lutris is the easiest tool for running anything off GoG, Epic, Origin, or UBISoft or whatever: https://lutris.net/ Steam is a default program on Manjaro so no need to go searching for that. Matter of fact, you don't need to go searching for anything. Big difference between Manjaro and Windows is that everything is done for you. You don't need to download drivers, no need to go out and search the web for software, nothing. The system will do it all for you including keeping all your apps up to date. Windows is always a headache with apps and app updates and drivers Anyway, just throwing it out there if you are in the mood for trying something new.

Homeworld® Remastered Collection

Fails with simple man machine interface design

Why? No invert mouse option. Probably the only modern game released in history that lacks the ability to invert the Y axis on a mouse. Makes it practically unplayable for half the population. Avoid 100% if you use your mouse like this. It will make it unplayable to you.

Red Baron Pack

Could be great but.....

Tired of lining up a shot with forward view and it wants to switch me to 3D view as soon as I pull the trigger. How do I stop this?
