Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer

Excellent

Just completed the game, on Linux, and it was a really nice ride. Although a bit on the short side. The puzzles were logical and fair. Nothing super difficult. I recommend to play the first Kathy Rain game first. The music and the visuals work nicely together and the theme music is one of those that gets stuck in your head and keep repeating. If you like detective style point & click adventures you probably will like this too. I really hope there will be other games featuring Kathy.

Starcom: Unknown Space

Great game.

I own this game on Steam and I've been playing it since early alpha-versions. I fully agree with MischiefMaker's review. I loved Star Control I and II when they were released (yes, I'm that old) and poured countless hours in them. And I've been waiting for a proper continuation for them. For example Star Control: Origins is a fine game but it still feels lacking in many points. The game is released only for Windows but it works great on Linux using wine/proton.

Outcast - A New Beginning

Beautiful game

I've been playing this now a bit over 10 hours and so far my only problem is with the parkouring. Parkouring is a key element of the game and you need to do it to solve puzzles. In many cases you need to follow light paths and you have limited time to do this. The problem is, that the light paths can suddenly disappear so even though you know where to go next you can't progress in the path. Usually the light paths work again when you restart the trial, so this is not a show stopper but it does make playing less fun. I hope this gets fixed in the future updates. Otherwise the game is excellent in many ways. The visuals are really good and there is no lagging of any kind. I'm playing with maximum settings (RTX 3080 TI, 4K@165Hz). As many have said the jetpack and wingsuit are really well done and the feeling is great when you descend from high places. The story has been entertaining so far and the characters are good. Will be interesting to see how it all ends.

Master of Magic

Not the remake I wanted to see

When the remake of MoM was announced I was so happy. It was something that I had waited to happen for a long time. I played the original for so many hours. Now I regret that I bought the game before waiting to see what it becomes after bug fixes. It doesn't crash anymore but it is so SLOW that all the joy is lost completely. It is visually nice looking but the devs have ruined it by making everything slow and clunky. Stay away from this remake and play the original. It is still far better than this.

Intravenous

Great game

I picked Intravenous after reading many positive reviews. I have now played it for few hours and so far I fully agree with them. Gameplay is smooth, you can sneak around or be a trigger happy rambo. Or you can do both. Your choice. My main computing platform is Linux and I was very happy to see that Intravenous works out-of-the-box with Wine (64-bit, version 6.11).
