I don't have the GOG version, but i guess it's the same as on GG, so here's my review from there: The original Raptor is the 2nd best shoot'em up ever made for the PC and has a very good rating in the overall SHU world, thanks to the nice weapon upgrade system and overall gameplay and sound. I was eager to have this to play again and well...it failed me. Even though the sound is the same and the graphic has some nice interpolation effect to be playable on higher resolution s, but there are two big problems that make gameplay horrible. First, the overall difficulty has been raised insanely. The now called training is like hard mode in the original!!! And secondly (and this is the worst) you start every difficulty and every area with your bare machineguns and the starting 10k money, you cannot bring money and bought equipment to the next area/difficulty, like in the original (except after training, where you could bring eqipment but not money). Not sure what the reprogrammers thought about how on earth any can live more than 20 seconds in the last area on elite difficulty with only machineguns and 3/4 energy, without any shield. Good luck to any who may wanna buy the twin laser. I fought through training, 'only' died 5-6 times, than started rookie and died on the first level 3 times. So i sadly uninstalled it and decided to have this game again only for nostalgy.
