I enjoyed the original RPG very much, but that only seems to work with Windows due to how RPG Maker was made. This provides support for Windows, macOS & Linux based operating systems so I'd buy this myself to replay the experience knowing that they're all compatible.
At first glance, it looks and plays almost exactly like The Sims. The Sims is a game by Electronic Arts (commonly abbreviated as EA) that categorizes itself as a top down life-simulation sandbox game. By comparing this title to The Sims, they have similarities. The game certainly passes off as a low poly de-make of The Sims, if anything, in terms of the character models that are provided in these screenshots, however that alone shouldn't be something to drive you away from. From what I've witnessed the gameplay looks quite alright, and if you're a fan of The Sims series, I'd say go for it. After all, The Sims isn't currently on the GOG store (yet). This is probably the closest experience you'll get if you want something that plays exactly like it.
Not really what I'm used to playing myself particularly, but the environment is very colorful and I might even consider looking into the other games in the series. For the most part, it's a great game and silly at times just by nature. Something to consider before purchasing is that this is the straight console version of the game due to it showing instructions on playing with an Xbox controller so controls might be a bit tough to get used to if you're unfamiliar. It was a nice change of pace to play a JRPG with action and exploration. Worth picking up more games similar to this if you're into that sort of thing.
It's good to see Battle.net is allowing their retro games to be sold on GOG. That's great.
