I played this game after Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn and was a little disappointed. Firstly, the 3d graphics weren't that great, but ugly and blocky. Secondly, there was no real party, and this was the biggest letdown for me. You could hire a mercenary, but he was just that - no personality, no interaction. However, the game became better and get more tilesets, spells, classes with the 2 expansions, and especially Hordes of the Underdark (where you could hire 2 henchmen). A good rpg, but not one i would put in a top 5 list.
