Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Disappointing.. again

Starts of very strong - Acts 1 and 2 are excellent. I didn't have any serious bugs, the game is fun and the characters are memorable. Act 3 is where it starts to go downhill. Villains are unimpressive and easily forgotten, at one point they remove all the items from your inventory and you have to reequip ALL OVER AGAIN (inventory system is terrible), and you can literally die both from picking the wrong options in a dialogue (horrible game design) AND by failing skill checks in a mandatory storybook (even worse game design; however though of this should be fired imo). There is nothing you can do about this except reload, so hope you made a timely save! Just awful.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Good idea, flawed execution

Controls using controller are simply atrocious. Do not even bother. Playable with good old M+K combo, but forget about using controller for this one.

Cyberpunk 2077

Refunded, review might change in a year

Preordered, wanting to support the published that never failed me before. Didn't install the game at all, knew it would be a mess on day one, wanted to wait for patches and finish up some other games. Looked at reviews, youtube videos, social media - game looks and feels atrocious. I have no desire to play it right now. Furthermore, I have no desire to support practices in gaming industry that I find abhorrent - crunch time, releasing Early Access game while claiming it's a full release, possible expensive DLCs that would maybe patch the game and restore features that should've been in the game in the first place. I didn't knew this would happen with Cyberpunk 2077, and it is my fault for placing a blind trust into CDPR. I have no evidence for this yet, but my hypothesis as of now is that someone, somewhere decided the game's gonna be launched in 6 months (maybe needed a new yacht or something), and developers had no choice but to wrap it up and release a highly unfinished product. Anyway, issued a request for refund - hopefully GOG will oblige. Once (IF!) they patch the game, might pick it up again. Will probably cost a fraction of the full price at that time, anyway. I cannot give any recommendations since I haven't played the game - that would be very dishonest of me - except that I can encourage people to look at youtube playthroughs et al before investing into this game. See if you like it and if you can swallow the current issues. I cannot, I know in advance I wouldn't like it - too old to waste my time on unfinished games like this. It is what it is.
