I like the concept, and I like the characters, and I'm not too attached to the JA 1-2. The optional mischief is still a loss, like ordering the black orchids. The real problem is, this is a simple, small game. But it eats memory for breakfast. Then there is the lack of ability to experiment. Like during the tutorial there is a 3rd cabinet - unlootable. No chance sneaking closer to the guy at the stairs. No chance eliminating the officier starting to chase you. No option to move real time when not in combat. And there was the fatal flow where I tried to attach a controller. The game did not recognise it, and there was no option to switch back to keyboard&mouse. So on papre this game is fun, and in practice it should be playable. It is not.
and the connections are lacking too. I'd even dare to say, only from dungeon/quest-level 70 things get a worthy continuation. The lack of badges for plaing the Mew Game also hurts. Collecting the After Endgame Set is a major pain though, so those who like such content might be into this. The settings are actualy interesting, that's definitely a plus. The game is actualy decent, and if you can find a second player to play with, might balance out the slight blandness of the single player experience. I'd probably give half more star if the challenge-caves would have more design-variety, and the coffin-enemy would have been utilized more. Also, there's a review out there which mentions guns and twohanded weaponry - it is false information. While there are magic wand, those are the only source of ranged attacks, and all weapon are technicaly twohanded, as there are no off-hand usage. PS: anyone else thinks the boss of this one was reference to Terry Pratchett's The Dark Side of the Sun?
1) Go to yourlibrary. Pick Worms 2, support. 2) Pick "Worms 2 - morden system fix", click on the link 3) click on "dowload latest version" 4) install the patch 5) go to the folder in "My Computer", launch "Frontend.exe". 6) install "Direct Play" by the given button 7) play the game (for the campaign mode őick "Play a single or multiplayer game", create a new team, choose the new team, hit the highlighted button. NOTE: the game does NOT work through GoG-Galaxy!
but otherwise they aren't particularly good. I say it is a fine collection, thogh could have been better. Also, the lack of controller support hurts. Castlevania is... kinda boring, and has some bugs. Not GoG-version, I feel these were around all the time. I'm thinking about how the stairs work. Also, the hitboxes are far from perfect. Otherwise it's a very long memory-game of avoiding the medusa-heads. Take out the meduse-heads, and everyone would beat this. Also, it is obvious the game originaly lacked the P-lives. And likely the destroyable objects did not respawn. And you continued from where you died. But that way it would be an average game, and not a coin-eating arcade machine. Oh, and nowhere is told how to use the items. Contra makes itself hard through other methods, namely: a) spawns enemy within the screen so you have less space to manouver b) makes enemy respawn (kinda) c) the enemy spawning is semi-randomised, a feature that time did not use, and is the factor that makes the game "unlearnable", and roguelike-hard. Also, you don't get infinite continues, what is just ridiculous on any level, especialy considering that the game was made for 2 players. So to sum it up - they are not that special.
though it is a basic promis of this, there is no supernatural stuff happening. There are 30 miniquests thrown at you, and NONE deals with the basic premis. I can fogive not clearing what's happening, or that the randomizer puts the family back to the streets so the game can happen, I could overlook even the 1 or 2 moonlogic quest (especialy the one involving the out-of-battery gizmo), but the flipping reality is not adressed, and you have to suffer the clock-shop-or-whatever owner every single time. Oh, and I have no real clue what's the factor to make the sherif talk to you from the cell. Aside that, it's casual level adventuring, pretty fine, but if this cheats me here on the supernatural, I'm not convinced to buy the core game.
