A Plague Tale: Innocence

Simply great

The game has proven to be much better then expected. A great mix of stealth, puzzeling, combat and looting. The puzzles are simple and very enjoyable. The level design is linear and absolutely not open world but I am not sure if this is really negative. You simply have to decide if you have looted everything before going through the next door, because sometimes you cannot go back. As always in such games the stealth in the beginning more and more shifts to combat in the end. The story, the characters and the great mix of gameplay makes this a jewel. But at the end I am not sure whether I shall like rats or hate them....

Days Gone

worth every single penny

I started the game and noticed the small "open" world. Was that all? But it's not. At the end I got a remarkable world which took quite some time to traffel from one end to the other. Same with the weapons, ressources, money. Everything starts very, very low, but it actually encouraged me to evolve. It's one of these games where the skilltree really makes sense. And if you finally can get a hold on your prefered gun it makes so much fun to slaughter the hordes of freakers. The same ones you were scared about at the begining. The story is great. NOT (like in many other shooters) just some flat excuses to engages enemies. It's actually the opposite. Giving the hope that Friendship even can exist in post-apocalyptic scenary. Okay, there are also missions like "go there and kill the damn f**kers", but that's a low at the earlier side missions. The missions are organized as a bunch of "stories". A story is a collection of side missions related to one topic. At the end it provides achievements and new stuff. The idea feels great, especially as all are running in parallel. You get pulled from one story into the other without even noticing. I enjoyed the game. And I'm absolutely sure that I will replay someday.

Batman™: Arkham Knight Premium Edition

Batmobile is soooooo cool

Really great game. Especially the batmobile is so much fun. The changing environment (where lower levels of the city are not accessible) is nice feature to experience the city in a completely new style. The world is full of riddles, challenges and tropies. Guess that's what most like about Arkham games. Only drawback is the sometimes really anoying fighting style. Special enemies require special moves and such. What's challenging at the beginning gets more and more frustrating with larger crows to the end. Not really the casual style I prefer. But perhaps that's what others love about Arkam games. So I cannot blame the game for thinks which are for sure intended. It's just my preference. And playing with mouse&keyboard does not help relaxing this issue. I really enjoyed the game. Never felt bored or stuck.

Silence

Great game but really short

I enjoyed the game very much. Great graphics, great atmosphere, great fun. Every area is limited to 3-5 scenes and you need to perform simple actions which are all very logical. Never got stuck and never needed any walkthrough. Nothing frustating. The story is very linear and shallow. For sure more fun than the first part. The ending is very .... silent. With 4-5 hours it's really short. No chance to get really in contact with the few characters (I recall 6 of them). I guess the only one I will never forget is Spot. With much longer duration it would have been a real juwel. I got game with a very high discount, so from that perspective it's a really good catch. With this in mind it*s 5 stars, with normal price it would have been 3 stars. Really don't understand why it is classified as Mystery oder Action. I would call it indie adventure, definitively not a classic one.

Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don't Dry

The Saboteur™

Somehow Assassins Creed, but different

And it's up to you to assassinate your enemies stealthly, snipe them or to simply blow to bits. Open world, climbing on buildings, driving cars throughout paris and France. Graphics, landscape (including paris monuments), sound and atmosphere are great, even 10 years after game release. I enjoyed the game from beginning to the end. I just wonder if anybody ever used non-nudity-mode ;-) Only draw back were constant game crashs. But they can be prevented changing video settings. Windowmode, Shadows off, frame rate max, ...

Grim Fandango Remastered

Great Game, remastered with min effort

The game, story, audio and graphic is a 5 Star. But control is stupid and buggy. Both in the original and remastered version. I remember that in original Manny Calavera had to be controled by keyboard and cursor keys. I thought this to be a crazy concept. And it was. The remastered version now goes back to mouse control (great concept change!!!), but it's just buggy. There are multiple scenes were I got stuck because characters did hang up. And without auto-save this is not funny. For a game you can not die you don't save. But hell, in this game i did save a lot. Sound is great, story is great, Graphics are ok. But it's more or less the same as in the original game. So thanks to lukas Arts to make it in the first place. And some thanks to DFP to port the game to current operation systems.

Toonstruck

Still one of the best

Just image what the developers did back in the old century. We are taking about times where win95 was new and fancy. That's were I first bought this game. And 20 years later I can not help remembering the 2 cows in the barn. So I simply had to play it again. Some features from by point: - one of the first games with spoken audio. - Cutscenes with real actors paired with animated ones. - good story with no bugs or glitches. - detailed scenes with animations everywhere - And that all for < 1GB. The guys knew how to program... The game is fun to play. Ok, at some points I have to admit that I needed to do try-and-error. The solutions are sometimes too freaky. Thanks for making it possible to relive old memories...
