This is the only adventure game I played where I can combine items in multiple ways. It was so refreshing not to be forced to walk the path set by game developers. Usually it's you get a hammer and want to enter a room, so let's break a window. No, no, thinks the game dev. It's too easy. Let's make the player search for a key for few hours in places he/she would never expect it to find. Return To Mysterious Island is made in such a way, you can take the hammer and break the window. I'm exaggerating, but it shows how free you are to combine the items and advance the plot. I truly enjoyed playing this game. It's a bit short, but won't drive you insane with illogical puzzles.

It's not as scary as it used to be. Running around level 5 looking for things tends to make one tense, though. The game is old, the visuals show, but the story still rocks. "You've done well insect..." - I know it pretty well. I even remember where things are. It's a shame I can't enjoy it like when I played for the first time.

I wanted the game the first time I read about it in a gamers magazine. I'm a lucky owner of original CD *big smile* and even when I was selling some of my old games I kept this one. You won't find a game like this again. For a reason I can't comprehend it never became popular, which is so undeserved. The story just pulled me in. It's interesting, well told and makes you want to know how it ends. Unfortunately the game had a bug or something which pushed the story forward without you doing the things in between. The game is hard and easy to get lost in, but so memorable.

I regret one thing - not buying this game earlier. I love games with good story, be it an adventure (my favourite) or RTS (least favourite), and this game has a charming one. I don't intend to write about gameplay, however the console origin is noticeable in control. It's not comfortable to use keyboard with mouse. Beside that if you like adventure game, this one is certainly for you.

This is one of the loveliest games I have ever played. It's simple, with lots of music and sounds. You do something, touch or give, there is something playing in the background and it's not disturbing, it complements the game. The visual is excellent. It's like playing a cartoon on a PC. Nicely tuned to the game's Nature style. I give 5/5 for the final effect and effort the creator had to put to create the game. Good work guys. Make some more.
