A very fun retro-FPS that is just easy to start and follow through (no 2 hour tutorial followed by an "How to"-campaign). I am a casual gamer and played it on normal and finished it in 9h and 12m (no secret hunting). It has that old "Duke Nukem 3D"- feeling and the music is great! I feel the bosses to be somewhat underwhelming and maybe the variety of enemies could be a little more but those are small things on the overall great experience. When "Alt-tabbing" from the game to Windows and then back the game froze (which might be the game or something on my computer).
A "Max Payne" clone with some issues when it comes to interact with objects such as stairs, beams and the carts. There isn't that many weapons and the game is pretty short but it's fun! A lot of new games focus on graphics and a deep story - which are all important - but first of all the game must be fun and this game succeeds in that!
The original is great (gave it 5 start) and these kinds of games by nature are repetitive however this DLC doesn't add anything special. Basically for each level (or plane) a certain amount of damage and speed is added to the enemy which supposedly should make it harder but it makes it easier to reach higher levels faster. The new BFG, which is uber strong, together with EPIC weapons appears to frequent which makes the game even easier and more repetitive. Stick with the orignal and you'll be more than fine!
This game is still very fun and being able to shoot of limbs is still very entertaining but I feel that the story is very weak and that it hasn’t aged well. However, I still think it’s fun, and it’s easy to play (my kind of FPS) and a lot of nostalgia!
