Will absolutley go down as a classic in this genre. Fantastic story telling, amazing voice acting and sublime art. 10/10 - will play again.
Not done with the whole game yet, but I can safely put this at 5 stars. The writing, voice acting and music are all top tier. The gameplay loop is fantastic and I'm already planning a replay to try other choices.
Really enjoyed this one. I thought the writing was excellent, there were enough OMG moments to keep me entertained. Got stuck only once or twice, but the puzzles were all very logical. Worth checking out! Epilogue was a nice touch.
I grew up on point and click adventures and honestly haven't found too many in this day and age that scratched that itch. This one though? THIS one? Legendary. Great story, great puzzles and my favorite thing? There is no one correct way of solving many of the puzzles. I love that choice. I could spend many pages extolling the virtues of this game. But honestly, just buy it and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed!
I was recommended this game by a friend and ended up streaming it, which was very fortunate because people were more than happy to assist with some the puzzles I got stuck on. (After laughing at me for a while first, of course). From the very first scene I was enamored with the character and the fact that the game comes full circle made the playthrough all the more worthwhile. The puzzles are clever and honestly after playing puzzle games all my life it's shocking it took me as long as it did and that I needed help. There is no pointless puzzle. The game gives you exactly what you need to solve each puzzle, without any cluttering. It's brilliantly done. The only negative? The band you get back together and can listen to jam for a while, their song doesn't seem to be on the soundtrack?! :-(
Ok, so I loved this. The inner dialogue is phenomenal. The voice acting superb. The story is strange, vibrant, unique. The characters range from strange to crass to completely endearing. It needs more than one playthrough to completely appreciate I think. No way have I scratched the surface of the gems in this game with only one playthrough. It requires some patience and you will almost guaranteed be confused the first hour or so, but the experience is something so rarely unique you push onwards. And once it ends, you're ready to turn the car around and start the whole journey again.
Loved! Just played it for the second time and it holds up 7 years later. The puzzles are fun, without being frustrating. The time period is fascinating and I just wanted Alfie to find his place in the world. If you enjoy any of the Wadjeteye, Grundislav games, you will love this one.
