Basically a point and click game. Recommend an auto-clicker to simulate the mouse clicking otherwise it feels like a million clicks. Colorful scenes. Each had their own scenery. Mostly can be done over the weekend. However Levels between 140-150 seems to take forever, doing the same repeated scenes. But when hit 150 Level, the game turns into Meh. No real ending. Just mostly entertaining.
It's a great FPS game with lots of option choices as you play. So basically, you are this hot shot dude saving the world but has to seal everyone's credit chips and go on a shooting spree, killing all of the bad people. Some logic not the same, like when using the strength augmentation works to killing the living easier but can't help destroy a cabinet door when using the luminous sword. For the most part, I enjoyed playing the game. 2nd time around, experimented with cheats. Was nice to go around in God mode and thinking, that's right, you just sound the alarm. I'll take care of them all lol.
It's definitely a fast paced FPS game. I had to play on 2nd Level Insomnia in order to make good progress. without being splattered. Overall, same kind of game play as the original Painkiller. -1 Star for game being problem-matic on some levels when re-loading a game, it would stop and error out back to the desktop. Not sure anyone else had this issue for Win7. -1 Star for the lack of secrets and gold treasures. Most levels had a lack luster one or two secrets that were elementary to find. Some levels you can't make your way back to find them. Can't climb onto objects as freely.
As with other users, wait till this goes on sale. It seems like this is a teaser with only two chapters. Overall I found this game to be quite challenging and enjoyable. It took a while to get used to the character movements and functions. I learned to use the pause feature a lot when in battle. Hopefully there are more chapters.
I have played Carmageddon 1, 2 , TDR, and now Max Damage. Back is the mojo of running over everything and get time and points. Your opponents can use power-ups on you. Cars are more refined, and are able to do selective damage with the weapons that stick out. Barrels are everywhere! Game play has different variations of not just chasing check points. You get to chase people, hunt and be a fox, and smash others. I am impressed by the graphics, details of blood and buildings stand out. However car motion and strength seems to be a bit off. Not quite balanced as Carma 2. Overall all, still an enjoyable game.
Spent a few days to complete the game. All you need really is to have watched the first Back to the Future movie to get the gist of it. Game play is smooth, music falls in line with the action. Seems like it's geared for 10-15 age crowd but didn't mind the simple game play. About the most complicated scenes were in Doc's lab. Otherwise it's easy to link objects for their use. For the most part is to listen to clues from other characters. A bit overdone with the time traveling though but still an OK game. Wait till it goes on sale to make it worth it.
I played this just after finishing the first one and it just whoop your butt. Same play style, but the actions where not too smooth. Sometimes the pack had a mind of its own, get stuck by some objects and literally could not walk out of. Just a lot of got'ya's.
I don't recall of hearing of this game years ago but playing it now reminds me of Commando for the C64. Control is easy but sometimes with everything moving was hard to keep track where the people were. There is a cheat guide. Had to make use of in for Mission 18 on level 3. Game just locked up every time. Some levels are easy, some you have to use some skill and develop a plan. I had fun playing over many hours. It's a DOS game so you're going to get cheezy music. :P
