DREDGE

Enjoyable fishing-based exploration RPG

I'm about 5 hours in and really enjoying it. The quests exploration in the game is great; the ambience when you enter new areas is excellent. I thought the fishing mechanics would get annoying at first, but it's not overwhelming. After 4 or so hours you can get a lot of mostly passive money generation from nets and crab pots, which is nice. It has a somewhat similar mechanics to Sunless Sky's terror system with the panic system, but works in a different way. I like how you aren't buying things to sell when going from village to village, but exploring to find things to sell instead. The upgrade system is well paced. Overall it's pretty relaxing to play, even though it can get tense when panic gets too high.

Shogun Showdown

A different deck builder

It seems kind of silly at first, but it's a good turn-based game in the end.

Roguebook

Fun roguelike/lite with a rough start

I have a long history playing deck building games and was shocked at how difficult the first few play throughs were. Once I hit the 3rd or 4th attempt I really started picking up steam and now it's hard to put the game down. Well balanced characters with nice synergies, although some cards and gems are very overpowered. Health is really hard to come by until you collect enough pages during the early game. Some characters can compensate for that though to make it not that big of a deal.

Low Magic Age

Took a little bit, but I like it now

I tried it out when I first got it and my first impression was 'meh'. I gave it another chance tonight and 4+ hours I do like it now. My only gripe so far is inventory management..this is still "in development", but I've just gotten into a perpetual state of not being able to carry anymore when I don't even have a quarter of a bag of inventory full. Update: 2 hours later and I forgot to hit save to post this, but inventory management is soo annoying because you can't prevent yourself from picking up low value high weight trash so it's constantly destroying stuff in a slow and annoying way just so you can keep progresssing in a dungeon. I have next to nothing in my bags and I hit this constantly.
