Note: review contains spoilers. It could be one of the best games I have played, allowing one to develop their character and explore a very interesting world with so many options and side quests. I was so happy after spending many hours playing it, but, then... the whole Moonstone Mask brothel "storyline" ruined the whole experience and I could not go on. Let's talk homophobia... because male characters are not allowed to lay with male prostitutes. And now let's talk misogy... Female char: "Nothing bothers me. I am strong." Tanith's answer: "[...] Women in power are sometimes convinces that need equals weakness." And he goes on with his assumptions that, since the female character is a ranger... she "keeps [her] companions at a distance". I mean... REALLY?! Not to mention that similar assumptions about "men in power" are never made in these interactions. Female char: "Perhaps we could... retire to your bedchambers?" Tanith: "Such a lady. I would be open to that, but let me first ask what it is you expect. What my boundaries are. What do you wish from me? How far should I go? Did you wish my simple arms for the night, or are you wanting more... masculine charms?" Cool - even when they are prostitutes, the the male have more agency than the females... the female prostitute never asks these things when she is proposed by a male character. And let's talk lesbophobia... Well, to be honest, I would have very much liked more... feminine charms, but that is not really an option with this game, uh? Yes, I know this is a game from 2002... but I wish this kind of awful experience would have at least come with some kind of warning before I chose to purchase it.
