Game is fantastic. Don't get me wrong, but when it actually works. Bought it in promise to actually experience it in Polish translation (just like the old days) but instead what I got were two games from which, first one doesn't even work. Tried every possible advice available on GOG and it still doesn't even open. Second game, Rise of the elves thankfully works but it does come only in English. Tried downloading and installing it in all available ways. Nope. Some could say that I could get it work or download translations from other source. Sorry I didn't pay for the game to waste more time to actually do GOG's job. Anyway, if the game works for you then add 4 stars to the rating.
The game has cool pixel graphics, soundtrack and combat mechanics. You can enjoy playing the game until you realize that there are basically 5 randomly generated maps with more or less randomly generated encounters all over them, few mech squads that can be described as trio of 'Pretty good mech', 'At least you can do some damage' and 'Why do I keep you in the squad anyway?', overly expensive upgrades, unlockable pilots that you can barely care about and pointless achievement system attached into unlocks. This game has pretty much no content left after finishing the game for the first time (the ending is also a joke). Why would I bother playing the game again if there is nothing else to discover? There is basically no story to be told in this game. It's achievement grind and nothing else. Of course You can try playing the game with different squad or with a custom one. But again, the only reward here is more achievements.
