Loving this game, I'm about 6 hours in and close to finishing the first area. So far, I love the variety, the deep strategy of base building, tower defense, character builds, weapon loadouts and just the satisfying feeling of destroying the zombie waves and the nervousness when they start tearing down the walls. Going to be playing this game for a lot more hours.

Grew up with heroes of might and magic and I have played some that claim the spiritual successor, but this game really does it. I love the pixel art, some people will not, and understand the screen can look very busy when you are trying to pick out where to go next. Once you play some, you start picking out what is background and what is useful to your character. I'm about half way through the first campaign and it definitely keeps the story going with new areas and new enemies. Played a couple games with my buddy on hot-seat and it takes us right back to when we were 13 playing these sort of games. He enjoys the auto-attack because he just can't get the fighting down but he likes that there is an option for that. Looking forward to many more hours on this and it'll be an instant buy if they ever come out with a sequel.

Had a good time with this game. The beginning is a bit slow but as you level up and get more powerful and faster and better at the game, then you get your groove and just start destroying everything. The bosses, if I remember, were hit or miss with difficulty. So the first one was tough, but then most the middle bosses weren't too bad, then the final boss was a tough one. Lots of secrets to back and look for and the achievements were great to go for.

Simplistic but exactly what I like. So if you like to get a set group and stick with them to level and grow, this game is for you. The story is interesting and keeps you going. Not super long of a game and it doesn't throw 20 side quests at you each city you go to. Graphics are pretty nice. Beautiful outdoor scenes and the cities are all unique. Upgrading weapons with drops is enjoyable but can get to be a slog with all the loot you find. Wish they had a "mark as junk" button. Maybe there is and I missed it somewhere. But when each skeleton is dropping a helm, chest piece, and weapon, it gets a bit much when you can only hold 99 items including all your crafting materials. but other than that gripe, I am definitely enjoying it. It is paused based combat. and your skills are based off your armor and weapons. So when you level up, you just put points in stats. love the simplicity, but that may just be me.
