Bad Dream: Fever

A big headache

This game was a long and tedious headache. I bought it on sale and since I enjoyed playing the first game, Bad Dreams Coma, I figured I'd like this one as well. It has similar creepy atmosphere, eerie music and sketch-like drawings, but boy was it frustrating. There's a handful of locations, but you can only access them at certain times and you can't pick up objects--even though it's obvious that you'll need it at some point of the game. I pretty much got bored half way through and followed a walkthrough because it was so annoying to click on object after object and not get anywhere. It felt more like a hidden objects game by that point. Perhaps I just didn't have the patience as I had with the first game, but I just wanted it to be finished. It's a shame because it had some interesting parts.

Bad Dream: Coma

A neat little game

This is a neat little game with a creepy atmosphere, eerie music & visuals that look like doodles in a kid's sketchbook. There's different outcomes that can happen depending on whether or not you make good, neutral or bad choices. (For example, I felt bad about killing any birds or bashing the crying doll with the crowbar, so I kept to the "good" path). You also gain achievements depending on what actions you choose, but you can't collect them all because again, it depends on if you're making good, neutral or bad choices. I took a look at a walkthrough for those because I was curious on what could be found! Also, it's a point & click game, so a lot of the times I was moving the cursor over everything to see if anything could be picked up. However, you can't pick everything up at once--you have to do certain things before an item is needed & then you'll be allowed to pick it up. That means a lot of backtracking has to be done. Overall, I enjoyed the game! I bought it on sale, which was a bonus!
