Its a simple fun concept of puzzle solving, some action but mostly using your head. Love this game! I wish they made more of this!
I only wanted to play it because of the funny commentary OneyPlays did. If a game can make me laugh like that, then its worth getting for that form of entertainment

Think of Max Payne game + Matrix bullet time. But instead you play a Chinese crime investigator. This game was so insanely awesome on Xbox 360. I played the demo back then, and it was the bomb! Highly recommend it. Lots of fun!
Its overall ok game. I would sorta give this game a 6.5/10. Pros - Has cool Amiga animation sequence after beating a mission, also cool history to how this is how many programmers back then got its start. - The art and music is great, and enemy animations is fun to watch - Fun action! Cons - Camera is way too zoomed in, so you always will get hurt if you run too fast or trouble seeing what is ahead of you. This got fixed in Jazz Jackrabbit 2 which i think on a technical level is much better Overall - Its worth checking out! Its fun but they did it better in the sequal. But there is charm in first game, so i wouldnt overlook it!
Pros: The idea of being hidden in the shadows and striking is what is best about this game. I think interms of sneaking up on guards this is really fun Cons: Too much weird storyline, design is bad and enemies and voice of the main character Garrett. One example is this enemy called Burrick (Which i nickname Barney the dinosaur enemy). It whimpers when you shoot enough arrow at it. This is stuff that i think the least of when it comes to stealth game. If it was more focus on normal people, trying to rob, objectives and missions for each stage, then i wouldnt complaint. But these design decisions is why i just was so disappointed. And the voice of Garrett is also bad, it sounds like he is trying to do ASMR. Which is why i call it the ASMR project. Its a seductive smug voice which makes the character seem so full of himself and unlikeable. Sure some criticize Thief 4 for not even make much of a personality to Garrett but i atleast can listen to him talk without cringing at it. And one thing, i am not biggest fan of random words with quotes in each stage. It just seems pretentious and adds nothing to the game outside just trying to seem big on words. The levels itself is a maze, which i dont object too. But with the weird monsters that feels like a fantasy more than a stealth game. Thats my issue is, this is such a chaotic design. So essentially 5/10 is my rating really. I heard Thief 2 fixed the gameplay atleast to a better set. So there is that

If you like PS1 game, this is very well ported PC game. I dont think it has Special Missions/VR Missions, but its good!
For what its worth, its worth getting. I hope they port more Castlevania games on GOG.com DRM free gaming for life! 1: You can change screen settings by DirectX in the program folder 2: Its simple. You get three Castlevania games and two Contra games. It works alright, its not terrible.
