I own the first 3 combat missions on GOG. As well as the original special editions (Which are better. Please GOG get the Special Editions too!) of all 3 on discs. I also own Combat mission Afghanistan. All are well detailed and fantastic games. But, Barbarossa to Berlin remains not only my favourite game of the series. It might just be my favourite game of all time! And I own thousands of games. I honestly can't think of anything bad to say about this game other than it's a shame that they didn't include the special edition. But, other than the missing scenarios (There's so many anyway that you probably won't even notice.) there isn't much difference. This is a game that is more than worth purchasing at full price just for the quick battle and level editor alone. There's literally thousands of hours of content here. And the historical detail of the units and equipment are superb. It's got a unique battle system that I love and it's great fun to make a whole bunch of "What if?" scenarios and have them play out in real time. I could seriously just talk about how great this game is all day but, I'll save us all the trouble and sum it all up right now. This game is a must play!!!!!! BUY IT!!!! You won't regret it!!!!
I like this game a lot after giving it a chance. It's got an exquisite setting and atmosphere. The characters are well fleshed out and memorable. Though not all are likable. Some of the puzzles are a bit hit and miss but, that's to be expected. The sound and dialogue as well as the voice acting are all excellent. And so are the graphics for the time. Despite what some reviews say it IS functional on modern computers. Hell, it runs excellent on mine and I love the fact that it jumps right into the game when I load it instead of having to watch the introductions and title screens every time like most other computer games. Even most modern games aren't that user friendly. I've been playing adventure games since the 1980's and this easily ranks among my favourites! It's a forgotten gem! I'm so glad that I picked it up! You'd be crazy not to try it at least once. Especially when it's on sale. Give it a chance if you are a real gamer. You won't regret it!
Great sound and music! As well as nice graphics for the time that really fit the mood. The great music and sound really add to the overall atmosphere of this game. It's a really creepy game with plenty of scares. And I don't scare easy. I can't even remember the last time a game scared me! I consider this game a must buy for whoever likes horror games, fps games and games with great atmosphere. I can't praise it enough! Perfect for Halloween and October in general!
I've had more fun playing this classic for the past month or so than most of my other games. I love the fact that I can finally play it with a controller after all these years and the extra levels, enemies and power ups breath even more life into an already great game. A shareware classic that will never die!
I didn't think that I'd like this at first but, I got it for free so I'm not complaining. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It's a fun little shooter with responsive controller support. It might be ugly and short . That doesn't stop it from being great fun though. Get it on sale for a couple of bucks and give it a try!
I own the original disc and was thrilled when I found this on GOG. All of the factions are varried and interesting. I like the early 3d graphics too. It was ahead of it's time! Great game! Though it does have a slower pace and some horrible pathfinding. Buy it! You won't be disappointed.
