I knew that I would love this game just looking at it. I like the PSX style of the graphics. Reminds me of the Torturestar games which I have most of. Probably one of the best and most unique games around with an interesting world that can't be found anywhere else. If you are tired of the same old fantasy or fallout style post-doomsday rpgs that all kinda feel so similar that you just stop caring then give this diamond in the rough a try. You'll be glad that you did! Also, I'll add that I got this game on GOG because it's a better deal than steam for this title ( if you want the DLCs which are absolutely worth it!!!) and I wanted to play offline. And I should mention that this is one of very few games that I've been willing to pay the full price on.
It's pretty annoying fighting a single possum for 3 or 4 full turns because no one hits. And it happens constantly. Raising some stats even by lots of points seems to do nothing. You're better off with the original unless you want to play with a controller. It gets another star if you play with a controller.
This is an excellent remaster and it really helps get you into the Halloween holiday season. Works very well with an Xbox controller. Still worth buying the original as well. These games just have an unbeatable atmosphere even by todays standards. Monster Bash was and probably still is one of the best platformers on pc. You are doing yourself a great diservice if you do not play this masterpiece at least once in your life.
I've only found about 20 games in my life to be interesting enough to finish in a sitting or 3. and a Golden Wake is one of them! Not sure how it got up there with The Last of Us, Life is Strange, The Secret of Monkey Island, Farcry 2 and most of the Telltale games. But, it did! Great little game!
I was utterly compelled to finish this old school dungeon crawler. And I can't say that about too many games nowadays.
These are really great games that I first played as shareware. Unlimited magic and cool enemies. The games have great atmosphere and you get quite a few in this pack. It's okay with a keyboard. I couldn't get a gamepad or fancy joystick to work too well but, the C64 mini jotstick works like a dream on this and some other games that I could get my other hardware to run with. You really only need one button anyway. That's how simple these games are. They are simple but fun!
Turn off the VR sync in options or it's almost unplayable. It's got about 25 games. Plus Japan and console versions of most of those games. Some of with are pretty different like Guerrilla War. Pretty good game selection and it works great with an Xbox controller. I got it to play on sale to play while I'm injured and it's the perfect selection for that. Very well done. Worth a buy even at full price. Especially with all the options!
It's supposed to be rough and clunky. The atmosphere and especially sounds effects are excellent. And all of the weapons feel and sound really good. I love alternate history and this is just fascinating. Games that allow you to switch perspectives are awesome!
I was so looking forward to playing this masterpiece but, unfortunately it crashes at the end of the bandit fight. Looks like I'll have to get the Xbox version.
This is a game that everbody should try at least once! Especially if you consider yourself a real gamer. This is a gem!!!!
