I'd play it on a big screen because it can get a little small but, this tactical/war/strategy game has a lot of stuff to like. First off there are multiple historical campaigns for each side as well as scenarios. You get the option to set almost anything you want from supply level and experience to basically unkillable troops if you wish. Also you get to pick your rank and level of command and the medals are historically accurate. The combat has a bunch of different views and you can even fire from the turret of the command vehicle if you wish. Probably the only time I've seen such a feature in such a game! This is a must buy for any Wargamer or strategy fans. It still holds up today!
Honestly, if you take off the Rose Colored glasses this game is about as buggy as Brigand : Oaxaca which it inspired {and which is also a great game despite it's flaws and being made by only one man). This game is the OG Cyberpunk Immersive Sim that started it all. And it also ranks as one of the greatest games of all time. It's a bit difficult but, extremely rewarding! Everyone should at least try this beast!
American Conquest is an amazing game! It's a little hard to get used to at first and it's hard to control units after they get into combat. But, the gameplay and atmosphere really shine through. The sound and music are excellent. The game is very fun and the devs really tried to make a lot of the campaigns historically accurate. I never heard of this game until I bought it. However it's a one of a kind experience amoung RTS games and it belongs around the top of the list with the other greats of the genre like Starcraft and Command and Conquer. A must buy if you are a fan of the genre!
Ran slow until I fiddled with settings. It's basically a well made Command and Conquer Clone (Interface looks like it was done by the people who did the actual console ports) set on a post apocalyptic Earth with Humans who hid underground versus the Surface Mutants. I'm real glad they brought this fun series back. Game is actually hilarious which is not very common for this genre. It also has Some of the Eras best FMV scenes.
