Fallout: London

What an achievement!

I'm usually not prone to exaggerations, but this is a monumental game. It goes to show that all is needed are people with vision and love for what they are doing. Clearly better than the base game and, unfortunately, plagued by the same engine issues, this is otherwise a long and complex story with excellent replayability (at least for the main factions). The reconstruction of London is incredible, the quests are well designed, the dialogue is well written, and even the voice acting, which is usually substandard in similar efforts, is remarkably well done. More than 100 hours of playing time for free is just the cherry on top. Bethesda should take notice, because this is exactly what fans want.

The Last Express

OK, but clunky and a bit annoying

A bit buggy, a bit repetitive, often you have no idea what you missed or did wrong and the sound is not great (and it doesn't have subtitles for English), so you miss some of the dialogue. Good story nonetheless, so worth a playthrough.

Trüberbrook

Beautiful, but flawed

Graphics are amazing, the world-building is nice, but overall it is too short and easy to enjoy and the story is not well tied together and unsatisfying.

Beyond a Steel Sky

Good story, bad game

Nostalgia aside, this game does have a few things to offer. The visuals are good, the voice acting fun (though I did not like Foster having an American accent) and the story moves along nicely. But it is an overall weak affair, since the puzzles are too few and repetitive (and some downright stupid). Worth a try, if it is on sale, but do not pay full price for this.

VirtuaVerse

Good effort with issues

Loved the atmosphere and the music. Pixel art was a bit uneven, but totally acceptable. The story is good, albeit not particularly original. The duration of the game is also very satisfying, one never feels that it was rushed to market. Unfortunately, the puzzle design is horrendous. Even when in-game hints are given, they can be given at random times rendering them useless. The dialogue is also extremely badly written making the characters annoying and poseur-ish. So, even though I mostly enjoyed the game (I got it for free here, so I can't complain), I cannot recommend it. If GOG gives it away again at some point, then it might be worth a look.

The Samaritan Paradox

Decent game overall

Really liked the pixel art and was pretty satisfied with the story. Many reviewers here have complained about the voice acting, but I thought it was OK. The controls weren't great and some of the puzzles were quite stupid and annoying. I also had a potentially game-breaking bug (apartment had disappeared from the map), but luckily I could repeat the steps to find it again. I did not like the fact that there was no option to tell the truth at the end.
