People need to understand; GoG literally stands by its name "Good Old Games" , and that some will have imperfections, and some on some systems, may not run at all - that's why customer service exists, and it's a waste of time for glitches and failures belonging to a review? I think it's more efficient to go there first. The game plays as I have always known it to. Amazing how, an old simple game brings laughter, frantic fun, and comprehensive. It's a bit like a city sim, only it's a Hospital. Last point ; I have tried apps I use PC and never a phone so I have used all 4 popular emulators. These apps are a money ink hole, whereas these games, even the new ones old by GoG, are aa great investment . I used to have steam long ago, and ran back to GoG , it's jut not the same. Also I own over 90 games, I get free game every so often which GoG graciously gives freebies to long time players (Thanks GoG!). Worst part of apps? try playing any of the elite or good pvp games, and you'll find yourself paying tons of money . Try this game , at least it allows you to appreciate the design efforts!
In the HOMM series, it's understandable that HOMM3 has a nostalgic following, even I have suffered from it at times. But the truth also be fully told, in giving this version of HOMM, I have learned to appreciate many of the refinements that it has. The game is elegant, and has been built on elements of HOMM3, and bringing in new ones that HOMM3 did not have . The Graphics, general ideas, and play are somewhat different, and not at all HOMM3 but should it really? I think any new good version of a series should bring in new things, and not just cater to restricting itself to nay older versions. I think HOMM V will find a place with player who appreciate innovations, and improved graphics and added concepts. I'd give this game a fair try, and you might be as surprised as I was at refreshing news ideas, and fun. The settings and other features have maintained the re-playability of the game.
Most would toss away the idea that Mount and Blade is better than Warband . But I'd like to offer why and in what way it is; it's been the-most-modded game of the series, and has stood the test of time. I have bought the series from Tales World, and so I have definitely had my fill of War band which no doubt brought new things to the game but, this never stopped me from appreciating this game and the mods not found in warband . The game has great physics, none of the elaborate things that Warband has, that is, until the mods are given a try. I am glad also that I bought my GoG copy because if nay issue on downloading the game pops up, try and seek help from the "support team" at Tales World, just don't hold your breath. 5 Stars, and this first game of the series will always be in my "go play it" list.
This game actually puts so many RTS, Castle building, and +/- RPG styled game elements, that it will stand the test of time, and well worth the investment many times over. No game will please others , then again the "others" are the few in this case. Do yourself a favor; if you want plain fun, with just the right amount of strategy and a hint of an RPG (the story lines, and progressive conquests etc), then get this one, you will never run out of choices for a replay, and with so much to work from. Stronghold Crusader HD, will always have a place in the hearts of many players, if not due to the fact that it can be approached from just sheer castle building and defense, through so many possibilities via the editor. Have fun !
i don't think that i need to add much more in reviews since so much has been written on this game except for a new very import things . This game is one of the "eternal" and most played games since its release , buy it, play it!. I have bought games from 'GOG' for almost 3 years and the inclusion/ update was a sheer joy as GOG.com has always always proven itself in customer service, follow ups on updates to games and even free inclusions /add ons and even expansions to games! Need i say more ? great investment in both game and game distributor indeed ! thanks yet again GoG !
ok so its not freelancer.....but it has its own story and style. it does have its cheesy moments yes but, it has alot to do and unique in that you ship gets upgraded and the dog fights are good and there is tons to do in missions and side quests. ive played all of the "cliche" games and then some yet this one i found myself coming back to:)
