Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000

Not as good as I remember

I loved this game when I was a kid. Unfortunately, it's not as good as I remember. The bad: The graphics, the story, the controls, the gameplay, the movement, etc... The good: Playing as the marine is actually pretty scary at times. Conclusion: It's an interesting trip down memory lane, but that's about it. I gave this game 2 stars (instead of 1) for the nostalgia factor.

Fallout 2

Second best RPG ever!

Fallout 2, in my opinion, was not quite as good as Fallout 1. Sure there were a lot of improvements. New weapons, larger map, better companion control... but the story of Fallout 1 was just soooooooooo good. That is why I think Fallout 2 is the "second" best RPG... Fallout 1 was, still is, and always will be, the best video game ever made lol. With that being said, Fallout 2 still deserves 5 stars. If you loved Fallout 1, you will love Fallout 2 just as much. The newer Bethesda Fallout games are complete crap compared to the originals. Brian Fargo was (and still is) a genius.

Fallout

Best, RPG, EVER!

Fallout 1... wow... what can I say. I must have beaten this game at least 20 times in my life. It is the best RPG ever made. Period. So many good memories from my childhood. If you like RPG's... you MUST play this game (along with Fallout 2). You won't regret it. The newer Bethesda Fallout games are complete crap compared to the originals. Brian Fargo was (and still is) a genius.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Not quite as good as Baldur's Gate

Icewind Dale was a good game. It was fun. But wow, it was such a forgettable story. As soon as I beat the game I had already forgotten what it was about. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were some of the best RPG's ever made. Icewind Dale uses the exact same game engine, so I thought it would be just as good. But it wasn't. That doesn't mean it was a bad game. Like I said, it was good. If you liked Baldur's Gate, I'm sure you will like this game as well.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear

Conflicted, Dissapointed

Ugh... ok... so, I'm conflicted. I really, really wanted to like this game. I was so excited to play Dragonspear, because BG1 and BG2 were (and still are) two of my favorite games of all time. It kind of sucked though. I was disappointed. I was happy when it was over. Why did it suck? Honestly I have no clue. I can't tell you what was wrong with it. It just wasn't what I was expecting I guess. I didn't like the story at all. I want to forget the story and just pretend that my character did something else in between the events of BG1 and BG2 lol. It was also very linear, and basically just a chain of battles. The only reason I gave it 3 stars (instead of 2) is because I have so much respect and love for Beamdog for at least TRYING to create a new Baldur's Gate game, in the same game engine, 20 years later. I'm thankful for the experience, but I do not plan to ever re-play Dragonspear. Once was enough. My advice for you? Give it a try. Play it at least once. Maybe you will like it, maybe you won't. I think it at least deserves a try.

Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition

Not as good as BG1, but still good

Baldur's Gate 2 is an amazing game. It's one of the best RPG's ever made. But... in my opinion, I thought the first Baldur's Gate was better. I thought the story in BG1 was better. I also thought the towns and numerous wilderness areas in BG1 were better than the locations in BG2. And tbh, I just thought BG2 was too long. I know that might sound silly to say, especially because I do think it's an amazing game... but it was just super long. By the time I finished the Throne of Bhaal expansion, I was glad to be done with it. But don't let that stop you from playing it. Like I said... it's a great game. If you loved the first Baldur's gate, you will love this one as well! If you never played the Baldur's Gate games, do yourself a favor and just play them, you won't regret it.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Best RPG I ever played!

I love this game so much. I've beat it at least 5 times in my life. Maybe more. I learned about this game in 1999... I was in 8th grade. My friend and I were in detention with our social studies teacher. We were talking about Diablo 1 and how good it was. Our teacher overheard us talking and laughed at us and told us about Baldur's Gate and how much better of a game it was compared to Diablo lol. He was a good teacher haha! I was intrigued, so I bought the game... and it blew my mind. That was my first experience with the D&D universe. It's just so good. Idk what else to say. Every good isometric RPG in the past 20 years has been inspired/influenced by Baldur's Gate in one way or another. This game is the godfather of isometric RPG's. If you never played Baldur's Gate, JUST DO IT! You won't regret it. Ugh... so good.

Riven (1997)

I love this game

I love Riven! I played it as a child back in the 90's, and to my surprise I enjoy it even more today! The world of Riven is unbelievably imaginative and unique. It's breathtakingly beautiful. The puzzles are difficult, but immensely enjoyable. I never got bored with this game. I always wanted to see what was around the next corner. I always wanted to discover more. As far as old school point and click puzzle/adventure games go, Riven takes the cake. I would definitely recommend this game to everyone.

realMyst: Masterpiece Edition

Much better than the original Myst

I thought this version of Myst was much, MUCH better than the original. I'm sure there are some die hard Myst fans that will disagree with that statement, but I never played the original as a kid, so there is no nostalgia factor for me. If you compare the two games side by side, without a nostalgia bias, this version is clearly better. The graphics and gameplay mechanics are both so much better. With that being said, it's still nowhere near as good as Riven. Overall I thought Myst was too small, and too short. I beat the game super quick. Riven is a much better game in so many ways. And even though this is a mostly positive review, I only gave realMyst 3 stars because at the end of the day, it's still a boring game haha. In conclusion, if you've never played Myst before, and you want to give it a try, I would definitely recommend this version over the original. If you want to revisit Myst for nostalgia purposes though, maybe stick to the original? Or not, whatever, lol.
