I recently tried replaying the original game and the Director's Cut version and it was clear to me this needed a remaster. From the couple hours I've played this is all I wanted, feels like the original but looks much better. The controls have been better adapted if you want to sit back, relax, and play with a controller. On a side note, I think GOG has to do something with their review system, the first few reviews are always from weirdos who don't own the game and whine about absurd stuff. This reforged version is well worth the price and no, it probably doesn't run in Windows 3.1, get with the times.
Good but average RPG. The story and characters are fine, the dialogs well written and the combat system is pretty fun. The problems are the pacing of the story, how slow dialogs and animations are, you really need patience, and the dull and boring dungeons. The game is about 40 hours long and this Anniversary editions, as of today, works fine, the only problem I had was some slowdown on some of the latests dungeons. I would recommend it only for JRPG fans that have already played many of the others better games like Breath of Fire III and IV or the Final Fantasy series.
Just like the name says, this is pure adventure, I got this just because it was free and I wanted to try it, but I found myself playing from start to finish, always wanting for more pirates, towers, cities and treasures. You play as a kid who wants to become a pirate and go finding treasures, resolving puzzles and fighting bad guys in a 2D platformer style. Maybe some mechanics in some puzzles are not all that polished, but still this is an awesome game for an amazing price. I found myself coming back to it after a while and still loving it.
