Lamplight City starts brilliantly, feeling like the 2D L.A. Noire fans crave. Cases 1 and 2 are excellent. However, quality plummets from Case 3 due to bugs and poor design. Inconsequential dialogue can permanently lock you out of solving a case, forcing an arbitrary fail state. A great concept, but flawed execution.

This is the third Larian game I've played. This one is the most horrible. Larian moved Divinity into a 3D engine. They use Bethesda's problematic engine. It crashes often, even on the latest CPU, RAM, etc. In Aleroth, I had to lower graphics to be able to move to that village by zeppelin. Here, you find Zandalor closing rifts. Zandalor really hates touches. Not even the mouse can touch him to interrupt his shielding. With that, I decided to uninstall this untested game. Many people tell of Larian's great ability to tell stories, but it only happened in Beyond Divinity. The ability to read minds and riding a dragon is just boring. The dragon just added some flying enemies and extended combat time. Also developers comes with cooldown on spells and hate that so much.
