Finished HoMM3 and all addons, looked for a new game. It is good, but not as good HoMM3

Fun for HoMM3 fans who loves a good story.
this game made a lot of progress. a lot to explore and to build
I played played 190 hours and I love this game. I think I will soon finish the gold seal and stop at 200 hours. It is a fun game, where you get some technology / buildings and try to win a map. To do this, you can find ruins and reclaim them, find treasures, build a good settlement or fullfil requests of the queen. By fullfilling missions you can get upgrades, which allow you to have more core buildings and get more rerolls, until you (hopefully)( get the buildings you want. Pros: each city is different nice world setting with some sweet lore and visual archivements in your own house great feeling / immersive for the world a central hub city, where you can buy upgrades fitting your style fun world modifier different terrains require different strategies. like find ancient artificats or make ghosts happy Cons: More terrain types / special mission needed. there are some, but i hoped for more More lore / lore missions needed. There is some, like the mysterious queen, but more would be nice. visual smoldering city updates. You can build buildings in the hub city, but you if you upgrade them, there is no visual upgrade.
I wanted to buy a long time ago, but I did not because I don't want to use steam or other software. Now I can play it finally. Hopefully all the mods work too.
The game is like HoMM3 with less factions and a new magic system (which is on different mana types which are generated each time a stack of yours start its turn). It is fun, the campaigns exciting and the song after each completed mission is fun. Needs more campaigns, but the campaigns which are already there are fun. The mod browser is great too. I recommend Battle for Wesnoth, for people who want games like this.
I bought Majesty as child and played the Majesty Gold addon a few years ago. It is just great. A lot of atmosphere, humor and good voice overs / flair. The adviser tells you a funny story before each mission and if you succeed you get a nice outro. This game has a lot of comedy in it and does take itself not very seriously. I had a lot of fun and it was quite challenging. I bought driftlands and hoped for something similar. But it got no voice overs so I stopped playing it. If you know driftland it is a bit similar but got a lot more "soul". Please add the German version, which has a superior voice over.
I love Majesty and hoped this game will be like it. Well, it kind of implements some of the mechanics and add some new ones. But there is almost no voice acting. In Majesty your advisor at least tells you what to do before the mission starts and give you an outro after you win. In this game you get some short texts and maybe a unit will say something if you click on it. This is a bit sad. I played Majesty for the atmosphere, this game has not much of it. The mechanics seem interesting, so it gets 3 stars.
The game is very good, the world is realy medieval and obeys religion, the lords and the feudal system of Böhmen. Everyone and everything is medieval, except the retarded son of a smith you play as. It is a bit like you take a person from modern time, put it into the middle ages and cringe when it brakes every fucking single law and convention. You visit a new town and got with a lot of luck a job in the city guard? And the law says that taverns must close at sunset? Oh the fucking lord of the city sits there with 2 guards and keeps drinking. The person whose word is the law. What do you do as a member of the lowest cast? Start a fight and beat the shit out of him. This is not even optional you have to insult the lord and you have to fight him. Even if you run away the game does not recognize it. What should happen is you lose your head and it will be put on pike on the gate of the town. To remind everyone what happens if someone dares to attack the lord. Don't fuck with nobility in the middle ages. The reason is, that could decide to have you executed if they want too and there was no kind of due process. And I think the game would have done this, if a NPC had done something this retarded. But as the hero... you get a job as assistant for the lord. WTF... . I like brave characters who take risks, but I don't like borderline retarded idiots who commit suicide. And to be forced to play as one of the idiots.
