This game is hot garbage. The concept and idea is nice but the implementation is incompetent as all hell. Problem 1 The graphics are heavily dated and unclear. Most characters look like puppets. Animations are terrible Problem 2 The save system. Maybe using consumables might have been a good idea in 90s horror games like Resident Evil but they do NOT work here. It is a stupid mechanic to artificially make the game harder/frustrating Problem 3 The combat. It's terrible. It's like fighting an excavator while driving a forklift. The moves are nothing more than quick time events. Rember those stupid custscenes with press X to not die , that's the faint and block here. So much fun. Want to play a good medieval fighting game - try Chivalry. Problem 4 The characters suck . Henry is a scared loser no matter where you are in the story , even if you kill X enemies. Theresa has the same problem , i killed 6 soldiers and 3 bandits with her but apparently her dog has to die in a cutscene. Nice design devs , i'm sure people love when their dog dies in games. Problem 5 Economy. Or lack there of . I was a soldier , thief and killed several bandits with Henry . My great fortune from this ? 50 coins . With Theresa i just sicked my dog on some soldiers and shot them point blank in the neck with a bow. Profit ? 600 FUCKING coins. Problem 6 Scripted crap. The gameplay is not organic. The game will rip you out of normal gameplay for scripted nonsesne. In the beginning you have to run away on a horse and you have to guess you will b e magically healed at your destination. Also if you ask Theresa what she did that starts a gameplay loop of her story. without warning ! Also , the actual game starts 4 hours in. The whole intro is meaningless , only after X , Y and Z happen do you get to actually play with Henry freely. Play Witcher or Elder Scrolls or Gothic or Risen instead. Save your money and dont play this. Seems Czechs suck at more than climbing mountains.
The original Elite Force was a fun little shooter , kinda short but had a good story and fun mechanics. This by comparison suffers from modern game syndrome. Lots of stupid secrets in the most obscure places. Lots of stupid dialogues where a wrong choice results in a game over - no really. A lot of STUPID escort quests where you have to protect an NPC or they die and the mission is failed. It is not organic gameplay , it feels forced and out of place , or simply put , NOT fun. I wondered why i liked the first one better , and know i remember. Despite the enhanced graphics , the gameplay took a few tumbles down the stairs and broke a few bones. It's playable , but not fun. The multiplayer works fine with Hamachi though , so give it a go with friends.
This a simple fun little arcade shooter with a Star Trek theme. It is based on the Quake 3 engine , so it is quite dynamic and fun to play. It adds a bunch of new locations and story and adds several voice actors from the series(Voyager) The weapons you use are interesting and fun , from rifles to torpedo launchers. There are several puzzles to overcome as you play and various enemies. Beating the final boss feels good and satisfactory. Only downside is the graphics , they look ancient.
I would give this 4.5 out of 5. Greedfall is a decent third person RPG. A lot to do , plenty of mehanics , interesting story and characters but can be a grind sometimes. The good: Story and setting is interesting. All factions are inter linked and events are well fleshed out and make sense. All characeters have a personal arc to deal with. They all undergo change and they each have their own demons to face , as does the main character. Combat is interesting offering a choice of melee , rifles , magic , traps which can be combined with ally skills. Monsters each have a pattern and a weakness you can exploit. The meh Interface is clunky and slow - hard to add multiple items to a sell/craft queue sometimes Parts of the game feel generic. The buildings and forests have different layouts but after a while it just feels like you've seen it all. Maybe a palette choice or more landmarks to make stuff stand out ? The bad Fighting the same monsters 100 times over is not fun. Same for bosses A LOT of running around to get things done. Every quest manages to branch out into more and more tasks. Upgrading items is not as useful as it could be Traps are often avoided by monsters making them not useful Stealth is broken I got endurance to level 5 only to NEVER find a piece of armor for that level. Come ot think of it content for endgame is rare - excluding swords/axes. Even a basic "gray" armor for level 5 would have been fine TL;DR It's worth getting at full price. Decent RPG , a bit rough on skills but good story/setting overall. Expect some frustrations on the combat part as things move on. (pro-tip start as a warrior and re-spec later)
A fun little 3rd person action adventure with rpg bits. No it does not live up to might and magic legacy and it is a bit clunky since it is in the early days of 3D engines. Still a fun game to play. Not nearly as boring or liniear as some people claim. If you are not convinced get it on sale and give it a go. It;s not perfect but it can provide some entertainment if you are willing to not be super picky.
