No Man's Sky

Killed my game with another patch

After 10 years of pacthes and "improvments" Im finally Done with this game. This latest "Patch" has yet again destroyed hundreds of hours (over 900) by making the mouse uncontrollable. 2 years ago the patch destroyed an entine city i built! Why WHY WHY can't we have a "Roll Back" Facility like in the Hateful Windows 10/11 "Update nightmare world?

Medieval Dynasty

A Game that Makes you Angry ?

Because after 15 hours of gameplay, you STILL end up having to leave the game, and search online, on how to use the seed bag, and countless other subjects in order to make any progress. Simply becuse the included Tutorials are so bad, plus the knowing fact that the "Game" seems to still to be under dev? So your never sure weather you have done something wrong, or the seed bag simply does not work.???? So much potential, Has the Aire of Kingdom Cum Deliverence, but without the Color, Excitment, or Storyline. Also there is no Voice sounds just 1980's style Script which you have to read. Grind Grind Grind. This Could have, and should have been so much simpler. So much unnessary running around for so little reward. Far to Slow and far Far FAR Too much micro management. If you like feeling frustrated and confused this is the game for you. Certainly NOT worth 29.99. get it when its in the 5 euro bid or free with some great GOG Offer?

Driver®: Parallel Lines

Mystery Patch stopped it working

for the for the price it was a no brainer. wasent expecting much but it was mindless fun. graphics fairly good considering. and the Music alone made it worth the money (what money?) I found myself re visiting the game, more times than i care to admit, just for the music, but then all my fun ended after some bizzare unwanted (or needed) Patch from GOG? Now just get the Game stopped working mewssage (you think?) and it wont run. Even the great guys at GoG Support could not help (Yes there is actually REAL Help here at GOG! Take note hatful Steam!) So 5 stars when it worked really but one for the minor detail of it not working at all!

GreedFall

Surprised me in the wrong way

I rarely bother to do reviews, but i do read a lot of them here on GOG as the reviewers tend to be a much better educated lot certainly better than the trolls you find on the much hated and now failing Steam. I actually had Greedfall in my "wishlist" for sometime, waiting for it to come to its senses and go sub £25. After reading several others saying the UI and control system was a pain to use, i did hesitate, for a few months longer, then GOG being the great and generous guys that they are (Again unlike the much hated Steam) Reduced it to under £25 so one lonely afternoon i clicked on Buy and after a 4 hour download (my pathetic Broadband's fault not GOG) I started to play. Ok so the now expected great graphics and cutscenes start, but after half an hour of monotonous combat (very basic and repetitive) and a cringingly boring storyline (all been done before) I was compelled to contact GOG for only the second time in 6 years and ask for a Full Refund! that's how boring and basic I found this "Game" I did play for 2 hours to give it a chance in the hope of something new and interesting turning up, but after 2 1/2 hours i found myself playing Skyrim to get a fix etc. To GOG's eternal credit they refunded without hesitation (game makers beware) and i elected to have the refund sent into GOGs great wallet fund system, as none of this is their fault of course and i want GOG to continue to grow and thrive, proving their Philosophy Works, and Good triumphs over Evil (did i mention how much i hated the much hated steam?) Stay safe have a great GOPG gaming week

Cold Waters

Sunk itself after great promise

I have just about every sub game since the commadore 64, and have every ww2 sub game since then So the cold War era along with the diversity of weapons and aircraft made this a must buy for me, especially with our great GoG Friend (Thanks for being there guys) However after a full year of owning this and as one of the few games i committed to pauing full price for on release i though it time to give my experience of it, in case your still on the fence? Taking into account ALL the other Sub Games out there I can tell you the UI (User Interface) and control systems in this are truly Aybsmal! Ive had it a year and STILL cant fathom the over fussy fiddly little buttons than never seem to respond or give insat feed back like in every other game out there. I,m not the first to complain about this fact either. WHY O WHY they could not have done a (by now) Standard interface where lockomng pn to a target is simple mouse click when looking at it (as per Silent HunterS) and firing ANYTHING in the history of computer gaming has alway been with the LMB! In this its the space bar apparently? but even this requires other buttons combination first! before and after a year i still dont get how this thing works? If you love a good exercise in frustation and disapointment then this is for you. Otherwise go buy Silent hunter up to v3 as the much hated Uplay ruined that series after that version.

Assassin's Creed®: Director's Cut

Could have been an all time classic BUT

I had forgotton just how unbelivably frustrating and insulting the begining of this game was. Ive had it on steam since launch etc, and was so very glad to see it here on our beloved GOG for peants in yet another great GoG Sale. However the breathtakingly over long Lab scence and the worst dumming down and tiresome "traing" sequence in gaming history BEFORE you are ALLOWED to play the game properly, should earn this game the WORST and most patronising start to any game in History! WHY the "makers" could not have included a simple "SKIP" button at any stage is beyond me? Such was the arrogance and mindlessmness of the "Team" that sat around a table and decided the structure of this thing, and unfortunatly this spread to the rest of the series, ie Black Flag etc. I would love to meet the people that created this nightmare, preferably in a dark alley, WTF were they thinking, and worst of all why did "gamers" put up with it? (Still) The Historical concpt and graphic were brilliant, the stories belivable and interesting but the whole is ruied by the constant interuption of the "Lab" sequences which only serve to break the immersion of the main plot and game. Thanks to GOG for thir on going brilliance and Attitude toward gaming, the game is made slightly more playable due to the simple fact that GOG don't make you junp thru hoops to play tthe bloody thing or insisit you go via the pointless UPLAY nightmare. which is why i now buy ALL my games exclusively with GOG! I Love GOG but hate this games makers. and at 3.39 euro !!! was worth the rant!

Carmageddon TDR 2000

Non Starter (no pun)

Yes I have come to have great respect for GOG as an organisation, for NOT being like the hated money grubbing Oppressive "STEAM" and for givin out actual "Free" games from time to time. I got this free today but unfortunatly it simply does not work due to an incredibly stupid initial Graphic set up? I won't be wasting time trying to fix somrthing that should never have been released like this, no matter how old, (or free) but it did backfire (no pun) as i wont now be buying Carmageeden 2 because of it. Sometimes giving out un tested "Free" stuff can have the oppisite desired "Sales" effect and this is a perfect example of it. Thanks Anyway GOG. Win 7 64 bit
