Two Worlds Epic Edition

Seriously appalling game dont buy it

Where to begin? The voice acting is bad and doesnt have the redeeming feature of being funny about it, it just sucks. The games plot is boring and doesnt draw you in at all. The graphics being cr*p is nothing to do with being dated... its simply cr*p. I am a lover of RPG games be it Baldurs Gate, Fallout or the Elder Scrolls series so to be disappointed so massively by a game of this genre says a lot! I bought this for the xbox360 a year ago from the 2nd hand shelves and returned it the same day. I suspect the high ratings doing so well is down to die hard fans rating up all the 5*s and down all the lower ones so if you dont believe me please go seek an independant review away from this site. I personally have been stung buying many lemons off this on the basis of the biased review system and hopefully can save a few from wasting their money with this review.

Jagged Alliance 2

Amazing game... unstable on win 7

Amazing TBS but crashes out about half way into the game. have saves that if I load em and advance time it just drops to desktop with crashes. Restarted.. got bout as far and same trick. Also should be released with an advice to set it with admin permissions and how because on win vista and later this game cant access its own save files because of changes in security on the folders it saves to.... completely half arsed job by GOG team to miss that obvious piece of help we could all do with! Might work for other people but to buy a brilliant game and then have it be uncompletable is VERY annoying!!

Fallout Tactics Classic

Could be so much better

Just go for jagged alliance or look up the xcom games elsewhere. This isnt a patch on either. Has the skills set from fallouts 1 and 2 but social ones are pretty much worthless and though you invest heavily in gun skills early.. they too become worthless as do all your guns vs a later enemy who's pretty much bullet proof (and not enough energy ammo around to kill them). Vehicles sounded like a great thing but sadly are only usable in the mission you found them, after that they are transport to and from the battle only. (though I believe multiplayer allows their use.. dont know havent tried it). This game on the whole comes across as rushed out adaptation of the existing engine for fallout 2 just to make another title of the popular series. You will get some fun out of it but it just made me rage quit a fair number of times at the later missions through the insane difficulty.. the only way to win is to get a couple of gunners who later become support guys and train your others as energy weapons users because seriously the robots later on cannot be killed even with a minigun to the face!

The Guild Gold Edition

Thoroughly disappointed!

Read the reviews and blurb feeling this is a promising game so bought it. couple of hours in I find the manual is hardly helpful and the tutorial doesnt nearly go deeply enough into how different careers work or how to use espionage and perks of holding office. The AI is highly suspect too. I get a business running well enough to then buy a second. Hire a master to look after the first and they are goddamn useless and cant even buy in stock (cue constant "out of stock" audio messages) Yet your opponents grow at a pretty good rate which i only match by never running out of stock and keeping constant production of whatever is selling at a good price. Decide to run a bar for 2nd business and all it actually is is a brewery as there is no explanation of how to operate the tavern part nor way of seeing if it just does this in the background. In short: they made the game, botched the AI and couldnt be bothered to provide a proper introduction to the quite complex parts of the game such as espionage, bribery or how to win favour with the npc's of the game (who change jobs so frequently there is NO point sucking up to 'the boss' as by the time it takes effect hes moved elsewhere.. inviting them to dinner takes a year!!!)

Star Wolves

Who is praising this garbage?

This game had potential from the outset to be great but it is too linear. You can just go out and do stuff traveling between systems, its all mission based locking you into maps with little "go here kill X" mini missions within the main one (think mech warrior mercenaries for how missions become available over time). This game is stupidly difficult in the 'you only win by luck' sense too, mostly based on if the crap path finding/AI has your ship pointing at the enemies to shoot them before they point at you and kill your ships in seconds on the first volley!... As another review said, no game should have constant saving/reloading as a standard part of the gameplay!
