GRIS

Poetic casual gorgeous fun platformer.

It is a game. Visual and sound are beautiful. Truly magnificent moments. Fun gameplay. Not too difficult, a bit more challenge for regularly hidden stuff. Simple and efficient. Emotionally immersive. 5.3

HuniePop 2: Double Date

Seriously... still in 2021 !

Sorry fellow men, but it is really a bit degrading. Naked women for a match3 really ? Awful clichés. At least, don't put it on the front page. It is not to be picky but it is time to maybe evolve a bit. Platforms should take a stand for progressive stances in video games imo. #GenreStereotypes #UnjustifiedSexualisation

In Other Waters

Yes you are just the AI or are you a human connected replacing an AI... Use your imagination and you are exploring another planet. Just started the game, played up to third objective and WOW. It is really working, I'm just gonna take my time so I can read the lore peacefully to stay in the alien world mood. For sure, it won't please anyone but if you are tired of the humanoid avatar war/fight/kill of 87% percents of games, this is an experience worth living, in my humble opinion.

Fun hazy whimsy variety, nothing new.

Adventure puzzle (approximate)platformer. Well, it has nice moments, almost epic. Though the controls are nothing close to enjoyable. It's hard (I have nothin' against hard, e.g.: VVVVVV hard is great), in a not fun, frustrating way. Controls feels buggy at times (or is it ?) especially when you have some timed window to achieve an action. Hazy terrain is beautiful but hard to read. Sometimes, really hard to figure how to do what you got to do. Three or four times you have hidden areas you don't even know you have to look for. Some clues are thin, some puzzles are tedious. Audio and visual dialogues are too slow The stealth mechanism as good as they are got you too many times waiting for the NPCs to do their thing before failing again because of bad timing or maybe because you are not doing it right in the proper order or maybe it is not the moment to do it, you are lacking an object or whatever... and you repeat without really knowing if you are getting closer to the solution. And the checkpoints are often too far... My advice, don't waste too much time and have a walkthrough nearby. I'm glad I finish the game, at last... 3.4 (you were right Gog =D )

My Brother Rabbit

Great Interface ! Narrative success.

Thank you ! You launch a game, 30sec light animated cinematic and you are in the story. Simple but compelling. And you instantly play, that what I expect from a modern game ! It is a point and click, with hidden object but not as static as too often. Some puzzles, classic not too difficult with a progressive curve so far well balanced. The minimalist interface is awesome. Left click : you pick or activate, sometimes an object stuck you can use in the screen, right click to cancel. You get icons of the series of objects you are looking for and where to use when done, and when you have some to find in the screen you are in the icons are lit. I have done 4 or 5 chapters so far and the game is just perfect. Clever, story is ok, game atmosphere is fine. The art direction is a bit strange, normally not my type but I got into it. The contrast between the back story and the childish gameplay atmosphere that relates to it works like a charm. Top ! 4.8

The Night of the Rabbit

Sorry Daedalic disappointed by this one.

The voice acting is very ok. But there is way too much dialogue. The story is too often really lame. As an old gamer I'm probably not the audience, the story is for a (dumb) 6 year old ? But the puzzling part is sometimes hard to get around. Finished it as a chore with a walkthrough at hand. The game is slow, too many animations, back-and-forth and uninteresting monologues and cinematics... There are good and funny moments but... The sticky narrator : no interest. Didn't even look at the bonus stories. The time/place windows moment is fun. The "card game" = the seven families games with 4 cards by family against a computer ?! really !!? Seriously ?! Are we supposed to be 5 years old ...or four ? The amalgam between magic and prestidigitation is always a fatal error and an horrendous mistake, it should have raised a red flag... Ah and there is a very British atmosphere but in a bad mixture full of platitudes, banalities... 3.4

Spellbound

Yes this is a great adventure game with spells, a few ones. Original mechanics sometimes. Great dialogues. Double narrative done right. A bit of the dialogue choices have no impact, some slightly annoying moments but good variety. Not too difficult. I almost didn't check walkthrough and regretted it every time, should have give myself a bit more time. There is a little disappointment in the last part but the end is fine. Bon jeu d'aventure, des sorts sympas, original par moment. Double narration bien faite, bon dialogues. Passage un peu décevant avant la fin qui est bien. 4.6

Rogue Dark Tactic & Management Simply

Long wait ended. Looking for something new in the turn-based tactical genre. Tried Wildermyth and Fell Seal, get bored after 3 n' 10, felt like same game/story again. Again I'm seduced by the kind of hardcore rogue-like trend, and art direction. The storytelling not getting in the way of playing. You can read stuff if you want... The atmosphere is consistent. Voices, animations, darkness (The first time you realize there is a trench and you can't move across... or can't you ?) Damned fun. Gameplay mechanics are well balanced, minimalist but rich. Not so hard. "You can't stop progress." Learning curve really rewarding. (The easy mode, where units are healed each new day, let you chill, test, discover, train...) There are 2 sides of the game : 1/ Turn-base combats - burstable initiative timeline pressure - action/movement points and HP cost triggered skills - specialized units with combo capabilities. - really great original enemies coming in spawning waves (1 you know when; 2 you know where; 3 you know when they will move; 4 you better kill 'em fast and clean before THEY do it ...slow and ...ugly) 2/ In-between management phase - assigning skills and buffs - recruiting, sacrificing (for heal and boosts) - assigning rested daughters to the next mission So much time in this void to manage Daughters. The thing is you get attached and you end up with too many to level. I can't wait for them to die for good, just so I can resurrect the dearests in next run. AI is sometimes dumb, sometimes brutal. As you replay maps you get a knowledge of the terrain, enemies change. When you get accustomed to mobs and starting to feel comfy new ones and upgraded versions appear... some familiar, too familiar in a good creepy way... Few different units type, still each is unique (apart the lost soul ?). The randomly situational generated traits, plus the skill choices and applied boosts do some magic. Addictive but casual playing compatible. It is a modern game (2020) !

Agent A: A puzzle in disguise

Backtracking fun (working under linux)

Nearending chapter two. Not too difficult so far. It is like a chain of escape games but not too complex, with a bit of adventure puzzle. Managed to make the game work with a lutris custom install. Stylish and fun. A good puzzle game.

VVVVVV

VVVVVVery good & fun game.

Nice story. Gameplay is tight. Insanely hard from time to time getting all trinkets. Used a script to cheat by slowing the game to train for pit like phase, redid it without cheat once mastered... Cause it is so hard but so fun... Great moment, great memory.
