Rogue Dark Tactic & Management Simply

Long wait ended. Looking for something new in the turn-based tactical genre. Tried Wildermyth and Fell Seal, get bored after 3 n' 10, felt like same game/story again. Again I'm seduced by the kind of hardcore rogue-like trend, and art direction. The storytelling not getting in the way of playing. You can read stuff if you want... The atmosphere is consistent. Voices, animations, darkness (The first time you realize there is a trench and you can't move across... or can't you ?) Damned fun. Gameplay mechanics are well balanced, minimalist but rich. Not so hard. "You can't stop progress." Learning curve really rewarding. (The easy mode, where units are healed each new day, let you chill, test, discover, train...) There are 2 sides of the game : 1/ Turn-base combats - burstable initiative timeline pressure - action/movement points and HP cost triggered skills - specialized units with combo capabilities. - really great original enemies coming in spawning waves (1 you know when; 2 you know where; 3 you know when they will move; 4 you better kill 'em fast and clean before THEY do it ...slow and ...ugly) 2/ In-between management phase - assigning skills and buffs - recruiting, sacrificing (for heal and boosts) - assigning rested daughters to the next mission So much time in this void to manage Daughters. The thing is you get attached and you end up with too many to level. I can't wait for them to die for good, just so I can resurrect the dearests in next run. AI is sometimes dumb, sometimes brutal. As you replay maps you get a knowledge of the terrain, enemies change. When you get accustomed to mobs and starting to feel comfy new ones and upgraded versions appear... some familiar, too familiar in a good creepy way... Few different units type, still each is unique (apart the lost soul ?). The randomly situational generated traits, plus the skill choices and applied boosts do some magic. Addictive but casual playing compatible. It is a modern game (2020) !

Agent A: A puzzle in disguise

Backtracking fun (working under linux)

Nearending chapter two. Not too difficult so far. It is like a chain of escape games but not too complex, with a bit of adventure puzzle. Managed to make the game work with a lutris custom install. Stylish and fun. A good puzzle game.

VVVVVV

VVVVVVery good & fun game.

Nice story. Gameplay is tight. Insanely hard from time to time getting all trinkets. Used a script to cheat by slowing the game to train for pit like phase, redid it without cheat once mastered... Cause it is so hard but so fun... Great moment, great memory.

A Short Hike

Gliding fun ! Little happy adventure.

Great little game. Made my day. Very well balanced game-play, perfect design. 3D height exploration (diving is missing) short peaceful action-adventure like. A real treat it was to play a humanoid-bird with fly-like abilities ! No monsters, no death, so refreshing. Dialogues are really good. Great characterization. A childish tone but in a mature way. Explore, fly, run, fish, dig, play, wearing hats ? ... What a day it was ! Couldn't find a park map though... A must play.

Pilgrims

Not the best Amanita

Fine. Very simple gameplay. Repetitive, lots of backtracking. It is small but even, tend to get a bit boring. Art and humour are fine. Lack a feminine touch.

Darwinia - 10000th Anniversary Edition

Extraordinaire/Extraordinary

I don't know why but it works so well. All mechanics are simple but efficient. It 's quickly addictive. Not always precise controls but that is part of it. So retro, even old school demos bits when you launch the game ! The story (most world unwrap) is great. Progression is balanced. Not a difficult game but some twists in the enemies (and programs) behaviour make need for a little strategy. You can use different tactical approaches. One level left and I am already looking forward to play it again. A masterpiece.

Order of the Thorne: The King's Challenge

Fun little point and click

Scenario is good. The voice acting, dialogues (you actually have to pay attention to) and background are great. Had to play in windowed mode with graphic filter to set window size (linux). Bug : The love reunion part, you are told you need to play a song and give a flower. I played twice the song and it did the trick, however giving the flower later get some dialogues back and one PNJ back in the wrong place forbidding access to an area rending progression impossible. Hopefully a save let me being able to finish the game without giving the flower. Some small flaws, tedious moments (labyrinth style with timing punishment encounters area hopefully not too difficult), some little back and forth (use left click then right click : to 'teleport'). But in the end, a good short game, worth the money with a fair reduction. Looking forward to next chapter. Thanks.

The Little Acre

Great game falling short...

Cute adventure but very, very short. Nice but not incredible. Mixed feelings, story is great but so little is told... Some poor moments. Too bad. But great game anyhow.
