The game itself plays as an old game is expected to play, it's ok. But there are NO SETTINGS of any kind, literally nothing. No AA, no Audio setting, no visual settings, Nothing. You cant even resize the screen at all, so it's Full Screen or Full Screen. You can't even end the game or close it!! you have to crash the game to exit, so you have to go to windows Taskbar or Task manager then crash it!! that's just beyond lazy and bad. So as much as I want to promote this game, I just can't recommend it at all in this state.
It has such a nostalgic effect that just doesn't let-up, it was in all arcades back in he day for a very good reason. It's really good fun and the more you play it the better it gets - Duh - but some Shmups get worse the more you play. So get it on sale and you'll get into it quickly. P.S This version also has an ease of life Reverse/Rewind button that makes the game a total blast.
It was far too ambitious when it first came out and the reviewers rightly attacked it, but NOW we all have PC's that can finally run the game on the highest settings - a little hot and laud - you can enjoy one of the most engaging and fun games ever. I don't need to go into details because others have already reviewed it thoroughly, all I'll say is that it will join that short list of games that we all have to ban ourselves from playing again and again so we can get through our backlog of other games. Get it on sale and if your computer can handle it, have one of the most engaging gameplays ever. P.S I must say one word of negativity though! It has a super woke "Couple" in the game that will upset u, but if you can ignore them then you'll be fine.
Others have written really elaborate and thorough reviews so I don't need to. It's simply a good fast space horror shooter with a great atmosphere, so get it on sale and prepare for a few scares - and a few cheap jump scares - but it is fun and THAT is all that matters. I bought it on CD when it came out and later on Steam, so I just had to get it on GOG because I just love the freedom of not having any DRM software all over it. Yes it is showing it's age a little today, but with the computer power that everyone now has it will run with full specs as smooth and as fast as you like. P.S. The BFG version is just a more refined and polished version of the original, you get both so you can choose which one you like, the original has Mod's so you can try both and play the way you want.
Yes this game was from the ancient era of "Full Wokeness" but it's fun, no really. Yes it's about two colored women who don't need no man except for a male robot - no innuendo - but it's fun, no really. Yes the story is just ok but it's fun, no really. And Yes the cliché's are all present and you can see the ending coming from a mile away but it's fun, seriously. So in short, yes it's a woke game but doesn't over do it and most importantly, it's a relatively short and relaxing fun game, so give it a shot, and at it's low discounted price you can't go wrong. Trust me you'll finish it easily and quickly while having fun doing so and never ask for a refund. Peace.
Since when have twin stick shooters gotten so good, deep and story drive? After I finished this game I didn't miss a chance to try all the good twin stick shooter games around, and as soon as the "Ascent" comes to GOG I'm buying that again. P.S I played this first on the the Switch, so getting the PC version was a no brainer.
A fantastic update to Q2, it's not the RTX update though, but it is now updated to modern standards but still as close to the original as they could keep it. What a fantastic move by the team. Don't hesitate, get it now and enjoy one of the best ever FPS.
Don't tell anyone! but this damn game is so pleasantly addictive, It's gameplay is fair and never insults your intelligence or rubber bands the difficulty if you are doing either really well or struggling. Get it now and see for yourself how much it is just like "Advance wars" in it's JUST ONE MORE GAME I SWEAR!! is that the sun shinning through my window and I have work today? Nooooooooooooo
I bought it on steam, and now on GOG, just to support it. I really don't know why I enjoy it so much! It could be because it's original in the way it plays and in the story it tells that doesn't feel forced like some other FPS's. In short it's fun, and since it's not a long game, you can finish it as fast as you want. And everyone who has played it has already said: THERE NEEDS TO BE A SEQUEL.
