I'm having fun as someone who isn't nessisarily great at apace combat. Definately a tip of the hat to games like FTL. Fun to play from a 1rst person perspective. Game looks great and runs nicely. Not super deep perhaps but well-exicuted and fun. Super high value (less than $3 usd on sale)
If you love and frequently return to Ceaser III and Settlers II like I do- this is probably for you. I think this game already delivers so much polish, atmosphere and replayability. I took the time to write this review because I am genuinely impressed and excited about Agaisnt the Storm. It feels like a really fresh and deep new entry into the genre - city management games that are often plagerized and rehashed through the years. AtS feels like the next generation of the genre. It includes all sorts of small systems and well-done mechanics that interact together in a pleasing way. This includes the rougelite mechanic which adds another fun system to play with. I also feel that the graphics and audio are beatifully done and implemented. The visuals are clear and reckon back to my memories of Warcraft 2 Battle Chest. The sound effects are so pleasant and the soundtrack is also great- however it can become tedious after putting a few games in. At $20 during 'early access' I think this game is priced more than fairly. I'm excited to be playing as new content is added to a game that already feels like a solid package.
