SKALD: Against the Black Priory

Modern Classics

Very good CRPG with in-depth characters and mature story. 10 / 10

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries

The Greatest

Good without mods (but challenging for newbies), but absolutely the Greatest entry to Battletech with mods like YAML, allowing unparallel customization of mechs and lance. There is a flood of critical reviews that don't make sense (black PR?), no idea why it is 3.8 / 5. I am 100 hours in, completed campaign and doing career mode. I still have seen probably somewhere around 1/3 of all content. On sale - must have if you are a fan of Battletech.

Starcom: Unknown Space

Shallow husk of game, no replayability

tl;dr If you liked it during first 1 hour of playtrough, you might like it. If you didn't - stay away, it won't improve. Bought it after watching some gameplay videos, but mostly because of overwhelmingly positive reviews. Early game is a boring grind, the game somewhat shines in mid game, then in a late game it is again extremely boring. Quests have very little choice and replayability. Ship customization is a myth and doesn't impact gameplay!! You have only 5 different weapon types (plasma with controllable angle and one that hits straight, laser (pita to use in only mods except free, lock), rockets, interceptors aircraft and anti-missile flares), but given the amount of dps they do, only plasma and rockets are viable ones. It took me to get complete research tree open to realize that the game is shallow and not that balanced, I don't understand why there are so many positive reviews and price tag of 20$. For this money, you can buy Space Rangers, X2 / X3 or Everspace, which are way way better space sim games.

The Temple of Elemental Evil

(In)Complete mess

Even with Co8 modpack, this game is bugged, the story is bland and combat encounters are badly designed. The combat system / D&D leveling system is good... but maaan, I am buying CRPG to satisfy CRPG itch, I want quests, I want to explore the world... This game at the beginning seems promising, but then in Act 2 you see that it is completely incomplete mess without any minimal QA effort done. My advice -- don't waste your time on this game.

Necromunda: Hired Gun

I want Necromunda: Hired Gun 2!

This game is supposed to be played on Hard or Oldschool. I made a mistake of starting to play on Normal, and, well, the game seemed very bland. But oh my, then I started a new game on Hard, how much did it change! And the music! The music in the game is simply breathtaking, dark W40K beats meet Doom metal gore! I liked looting and weapons customization aspect of the game a lot, it feels just right, the only complaint I have, I would like to see in future some unique weapon blueprints (right now all weapons I find have a common blueprint that can be configured, e.g. Blazing Sun +3 blueprint).

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Wasteland 2 in Fantasy Sci-Fi setting

Hear, hear! It took me 37 hours to complete the game with all sidequests, and experience everything in game, and I rather like it than dislike. It has all the problems of Wasteland 2, which I think now is Inxile's speciality, hence the title. Game only has one TRUE way of playing -- playing by Nano character. Otherwise, you will simply have some content missing without substitution. Play it like it is "supposed" to be played (like a book, not a game). It is not PS:T, but mostly enjoyable. Cons: - Bugged quests (I had to fix scripts in game files to move forward, namely in "Ashen Imitation" and "The Anechoic Lazaret"). - Very uneven storytelling. Some quests shine (e.g. already mentioned bugged "Ashen Imitation"), other are frustrating (e.g. finding a particular object to interact in a *huge* and *dull* location of Sagus Cliffs to progress Oom quest forward). - Awful combat. No, worse combat that I've ever seen in game history. And the problem is not in turn-based combat itself, but rather horribly designed encounters, like if they had it designed for RTwP and in the last moment switched to TB without doing any meaningful redesign. - Companions are boring. No, listen, they all are created by using the same formula: a) Unique element (Aligerns' tatoos, Callistege's copies, Erritis voices, ...) b) No trust for Last Castoff at the beginning or want to use LC for their purpose. d) No romance with companions means no romance. e) No own opinion or personality or impact on Last Castoff; dull and forgettable (except Rhin, because you will hate you, since you can't unattach her from party). - XP is given equally to the active party. If you play solo, you won't have XP boost. Some moments in game can't be done solo (e.g. stealing Cortex in Bloom or avoiding fight in final part of the game) - Worst epilogue ever that highlights game's weaknesses. It feels like devs lost interest and rushed to finish it. Mb. just right after Kickstarter campaign ended.

Massive Assault

Congratulations General!

You deserve a promotion! Let me congratulate you more personally, if you wish.

Starpoint Gemini Warlords

This is not a game

This a tech demo of outdated engine, not a game at all. The controls are plain horrible, I haven't been so frustrated for very long time. If you came here expecting something similar to Freelancer like I did, then just better skip this game.

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition

Are you true son of Sigmar, or..?

The game works on Win 10 without any additional patches or tricks. Good memories, good strategy game. Mechanics are quite similar to earlier Dark Omen and Shadow of Horned Rat games, i.e. you have a band of warriors that you grow throught a game. Plot is typical fantasy plot, not stupid though and quite enjoyable. However, oh people, how I actually enjoyed battles in game. They are somehow bring so much fun that I am on 7th heaven, same like when I played Warcraft 2 for very first time in 90s. Good times. Don't expect too much from the game, it is not AAA-title. Still, it delivers hapiness. 8.39 EUR is a good price for the amount of content in the game. I strongly recommend.
