This is actually a nice game resembling X-COM dynamics. There are some differences, though. You don't start combat right away. The first phase is the disguised movement phase, where you place your units in advantageous positions (in case you are detected), but it is perfectly possible to complete missions without combat if you are careful. The game has different dynamics for a regular player 1- There is no limited ammo. You can reload your weapons at will. But the drawback is it takes away your action point, so one should consider this. 2- Weapons are upgradeable, and attachments are addable. 3- You skill up your units and choose proficiency in weapons. This adds several benefits, they spend less AP on weapons use , quick reload etc. 4- Your agents are all upgradeable via MK-Ultra program. That is discoverable later on and improves gameplay significantly. 5- Jumping out of windows, sniping enemies from rooftops, executing breach mechanics (the game has a very powerful breach mechanic, which is great to execute) and decimating enemies with overwatch crossfire is great fun. The only few things I can criticize the game with is : 1- No daylight missions (yep, only tutorial mission is on daylight) 2- Missions become repetitive through the late game. (and the maps are limited so the player get to used to them after a while) Verdict: That is one hell of a quality game. Play it, you will have fun with it , I promise!
I liked Shadowrun Returns. It was a taste of the universe but not that impressive. Then I started Dragon Fall (I bought all of the series as a bundle) Boy, that was a gem! It captured me with the opening incident -no spoilers here. And then went on full throttle afterwards. Characters are very well designed, story is great and exciting. That title is better than the first title (Shadowrun Returns) and also better than the third one (Hong Kong) Hong Kong was not bad, but was not striking as this one. Buy this one and that's it. Dont miss out on this story and the joys of challenges on the way.
