One of the most underrated games in 2024. Compelling storyline and lots of interesting dynamics. Political system on earth is well thought through, I don't know who came up with this, but this is awesome, kudos. I'm going to let my kids play this to explain how the world really works That being said, there are several issues I have with this game: - I couldn't find event log, there probably isn't one, so you are forced to acknowledge every event in a popup. Developers, if you read this, please please please find a way to get rid of the popups. They are ruining the gameplay. Also, I may want to revisit individual events when, for example, enemy sends ships to my base and I want to find and assign fleet to intercept it or whatever - I find myself doing lots of annoying clicks that could be avoided with some sort of automation (research and asignments) - Ship autodesigner should have priority sliders (speed, firepower cost whatever, ship classes are hard to understand) - For whatever reason, there is no way to change ship's destination once it's on the way, even if it has plenty of delta v for this - automatic research please. I want to set priorities on technologies I get and let the game select what needs to be researched to get there
The bad: the game is not implemented properly. It's covered with bugs all over. It takes 15GB of memory when running, loads take forever, characters get stuck in walls and you occasionally have to check youtube and forums to see if your plot is progressing properly or if it's stuck because of a bug. It's several months since release by now, so I don't expect those bugs to be fixed in foreseeable future The good: it's the most fun per buck game I've probably ever played. The story is complex and multidimensional, you are provided with plenty of freedom of choice, your actions are significant and have consequences all over. So if you think you can handle the bugs, I recommend giving this one a try
Nice music, good and variable story. The world is non-trivial. There are a few bugs around, but overall this is one of the best games of the past few years. Having origin characters encourages you to replay the game to see the story from different viewpoints
I liked this game. Most dialogs are text only, and there could be more voice-overs (maybe, even text-to-speach as I do usually listen to books instead of reading them with my eyes), but overall I have enjoyed the experience anyway The plot idea is interesting, I did have the feeling that my actions have consequences in the world. The companions have been engaging enough, but there weren't any that I REALLY liked. I also feel that the story line could be made stronger. For example, when you declare independance, former freedom fighters could start joining you. Also, the "independance" ending where you convince the justice archon to bow to you, while somewhat satisfying, also feels a bit far-fetched. In the advertizing, the authors have described the world as "extremely corrupt". This is not the case. I come from a really corrupt country, and I think that the authors didn't really understand what "corrupt" means. Not that it would detract from the enjoyability of the game. In game you can basically do whatever you want, and the game will go with it, and this is something that I really enjoyed. I don't really like in-game puzzles, but most of ones presented in this game weren't too annoying. However, I got stuck at some and googling for the answers took more time than it should have. Overall, if you liked classic plot RPG's of the 2000s, you'll probably enjoy this game as well
