It does feel like a continuation of the first game, with the map a little bigger, and the mechanics a little more fleshed out. Like the first game you don't need to stress about missing out on something before the time runs out - you can continue and pick up the missing pieces. I do miss the "lost innocence" part of the first game where a kid is exploring sexuality for the first time. It felt more experienced. And the fact that everyone is so completely comfortable with sex makes it less believeable. The graphics aren't amazing, but it was still a fun life simulator to play.
Definitely well made. The game is an interesting puzzle solver. There is just a little money grinding (which I don't mind). There's a massive map with interesting things, and a plot that has a lot more depth then you usually get with these types of games. It's big too - took me 20 hours? But it has so much stuff going on that you don't really get bored. The temple puzzles are a huge jump in difficulty. I definitely used a walkthrough for those, but the rest you can find your way as you search and visit. The erotic scenes aren't just gratuitous either. They actually are part of the plot, and there's a lot of variety in girls, motivations, methods, and positions. It really felt like a world where sexuality was an important part of the story. The graphics are fantastic. Realistic as good as we can get these days. Not photo quality level, but still good enough to see freckles and pores. There's images, and videos, and animated scenes that are definitely arousing. A game worth picking up.
The puzzle mechanics aren't bad, but not especially unique either. The real drawback was the hope for erotic imagery, and it's mostly images that are scantily clad, but not actually erotic. If you're hoping for images that are sexy you'll quickly get frustrated and just go searching online. It's too bad too - I think the idea of a puzzle where you slowly put together an exciting image has value, but this isn't it. I actually figured I must have missed a patch somewhere to make this actually NSFW, but turns out that's just not what this game has.
The "game" part is very small, most of this is just reading a graphical novel. But there are some rare decision times, and those decisions affect what story line you get dramatically. Sometimes several decisions early on will stack against you and affect the ending, but it's incredibly hard to know which decisions affected what (without either trying 1000 possiblities, or looking up a guide). The novel was ok unless you were hoping for a lot of erotic content. The prize for selecting the right choices tends to be an image, which typically isn't overly erotic anyway. It's like it wants you to create the sexual content in your head. Most of the story line revolves around the political and social implications of this fantastic world, so if you're hoping for adult content this may not do it for you.
I like old style Sierra point-and-click puzzle solvers, so that part was fun. There were several "how in the world was I supposed to guess that" moments, and the logic and physics of the world are so inconsistent it was hard to feel invested. The aesthetic of the game was dirty, but not in a naughty way - more like disease infested gross. Things like puke and diahhrea were so common it was hard to enjoy it like a King's Quest type of game. The erotic material was mostly suggestive comments and phallic imagery. If you're hoping for a game that has dirty pictures this probably won't do it for you (unless dirty means a back alley that hasn't been cleaned in 20 years). Jokes about boogers and poop made it feel like this was meant for middle school instead of adult. It was like they wanted to edge just over the PG-13 line to get an R rating... but only barely. There was decent set-up too. Times when something interesting looked like it would happen, but then the hapless Larry would lose out leaving me just disappointed.
Very similar to the first game, but I think the game play was actually better. The play wasn't as linear with several quests to work on at the same time. There was still a lot of "wander around everywhere looking for the thing that's different", and it took me a long time to realize that sleeping (to start a new day) was a thing you want to try regularly. I did like that the sex scenes are less rapey than the first game (which isn't a high bar). It's still pretty dark, with erotic material that a normal person would not enjoy. It's pixelated images with pretty basic animation. It was hard for me to enjoy sexuality that is meant to portray painful torture. The attempt to address the emotional toll on sexual abuse... by having more sex. Well there was an attempt.
Not a game! I always assume "Galaxy of Games" means it will be a game, but even though you have some choice on what chapters to read when, and you have rare opportunities to make a dialog choice that can open a bonus chapter, this is really just a webcomic. The erotic material is a SLOOOW burn - I mean it's not until half way through that you get a glimpse of boobs, and that's pretty much all you get - a little breast for each girl. The long burn actually made it more erotic, though, as you could get a feel for how these relationships are blossoming. I would have liked more intense sexuality in the story, and deeper erotic material as the payoff for the long story lines would have made the "game" one of my favorites. There are no men in this universe. I mean it mentions father/brother like 4 times? Otherwise it's completely female. I think that's good to know from the start. The biggest reason I would give this three stars instead of two was because while the relationships are often taboo (old/young, leader/subordinate, etc) I found the treatment of the characters to be surpringly healthy. There was a lot of respect, understanding, optimism, strength, and genuine care about their partner. There are flawed people struggling to be better, but if you ignore the taboo aspect there isn't a toxic relationship in the story line. Very enjoyable and refreshing to see romance depicted from the position of "What would two people who shouldn't fit together do if they really cared about the other person with their whole heart?"
This uses the same resources as "Alternate Dimansion" but it was much less enjoyable. The game is less about solving puzzles, and more about running around the map until you find the thing that's different. And not all the places on the map are actual places you can go. At one point a character says "I don't know who has that, you'll have to ask everyone until you find it". Like really? The erotic material is really dark. We're talking rape, bestiality, incest, and torture. In fact the goal of the game is to avoid most of these scenes, so getting a sexy scene is usually a bad thing. Not the way I like my fantasies to play out. With highly pixelated cartoon graphics with uncomfortable themes I found myself wishing for something different.
Not a game, just a comic. I don't know why I keep thinking "Galaxy of Games" is going to sell games, and I don't pay enough attention to the descriptions. So much potential for erotic material here, and for the most part it's just not realized. A young boy pretending to be a girl in the girl's locker room? Heck yes. The scenes that could have been sexy are censored, and the plot mostly revolves around him avoiding sexy scenes. Finally at the end there is a genuine sex scene, but it feels tacked on (after all the conflict resolution). I would have been very interested in the erotic fun, but it was mostly glossed over, which left me feeling quite disappointed.
There is a lot here, and it actually feels like a game, and you have to figure things out to get the erotic content, which is animated, and the graphics aren't half bad. The bad thing is that it's pretty resource intensive. It takes a while for the computer to load it, although it works fairly well after being loaded. It's vast enough that after a while I looked up some guides which made it a lot more fun. As long as I tell myself it's going to be just a little choppy, and take a while to do things like save and load it's a lot of fun, and the DLC content just makes it feel like you get even more content. I loved the optional achievements (things that ruin the story, but as long as you save the game you can go back and fix it).
