Alien: Isolation

worthy game to a great movie

This game is a modern classic. It's not "fun" per say, but a great experience nevertheless. My highlight is how they modelled the space station. It still looks stunning. And there are also passages which are less stressful, so you get to enjoy it.

Mafia III: Definitive Edition

This Game is.. surprisingly good!

Didn't hear much good about this one. But: The Setting is amazing (60ies New Orleans inspired city), soundtrack is as good as you would expect it for a 60ies setting, and the action is also really good. Lastly, the story is interesting and the main character's motivation, while not original (it's mainly revenge), it works nicely! Game is much better than its reputation.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition

nice story, shooting is meh

Liked the story. But the shooting is a bit dull. It always turns into mass shootings, so it looses its impact. A pity, since the rest of the game is quite grounded.

The Sinking City Remastered

unpolished but good.. really quite good

This game could be much better with higher budget.. but honestly, it does what it does quite well. And it just drew me in completely.. I wonder how it ends.. 20 hours in now :)

Mafia: Definitive Edition

Good and beautiful game.

good game, but achievements on gog dont work.

Starcom: Nexus

surprisingly cool

this little game is more addictive than I imagined. It's relaxing and yet interesting. If you liked StarTrek, chances are you will like this game as well :)

RoboCop: Rogue City

good fun, but there are better games

This game might not be the greatest game ever made. You notice they never had this ambition. But it captures the atmosphere of the movies really well, and the looks of the game are sometimes nothing but great. Unfortunately, robocop has basically 0 mobility, making the combat it bit.. stationary. The roleplay part is also not very deep, and neither is the detective work..

Jagged Alliance 3

I love it

I was a big fan of 1999's Jagged Alliance 2 and was really looking forward to part 3. I had to wait almost 25 years, but it was worth it. JA3 recreates the old feel, but without feeling outdated. The mercenaries are the highlights of the game - they have very distinct personalities and interact with each other. I wish there were more of them, though :) The tactical combat is also really good, although I'd say XCom2 does it a bit better, but also has a different focus. It certainly is better than what JA2 offered. Weakest part for me was the strategic map. The movement of the enemies on the campaign map jsut doesn't make much sense. But maybe that isn't so critical. It's dynamic enough most of the time so that it doesn't get too boring between fights. All in all, maybe not a perfect game by itself, but for me it scretched an itch which I had for a long time and I really love this game. :)

System Shock

weird - but in a good way

This is a weird experience. I didn't play the original game, so there is no nostalgia involved. The game is fun, it's unique, the shooting & beating feels solid.. but the level design and a very oldschool lack of player guidance make this game "not for everyone". The levels are rather confusing, and you wonder who in their right mind would design a space station like this. But as a game, it somehow works. Graphics are really nice in my opinion, with a unique art style. Even more impressive to think that the original game is from 1994 or something. The achievements don't seem to work in this game, so if you are an achievement hunter this might not be for you.
