The game has a very old-school, stripped down kind of feel to it. Combat is a hair sluggish, but you can dodge everything once you get the timing down, and landing hard-to-use skills well for big mutli-kills or combo streaks is satisfying. It may not be the deepest game, but for the price, there is plenty of fun to be had here.
This game feels like it was a labour of love, made by old-school gamers for old-school gamers. Yes, combat can feel a little simple, environments can be a little wonky, the world can feel a little sparse, dialogue is minimalistic... but who cares. The atmosphere and tension are top notch, progression is so satisfying, the mechanics are creative and cohesive, and the lore is surprisingly intriguing. There is genuine heart and soul in this game, and it is absolutely worth the modest price to experience it at least once.
