The story began in as generic way as it can be. The combat both the third person melee and the ship to ship combat, feels a bit janky. But, honestly, this is still a game with a sincere heart, attempting to capture elements of games that I have loved. However, it's biggest problem is that it doesn't seem to have an identity of it's own, which is not strictly necessary for something to be fun. Overall though, I am enjoying the experience, even if the package feels generic in more ways than one.

I really love this game. The gameplay is so good, especially the car combat and melee combat, even after 10 years of release. If you are looking for an open world action-adventure, you cannot go wrong with one. Definitely worth a buy. There are a few online elements to the game, which are not available now. I don't know how that is going to affect the progression, as of yet.

While the gameplay is structured based on multiple fairly ubisoft-like (mainly far cry) systems like outposts, traversal and combat challenges. I enjoyed playing the game. The main story and it's structure was pretty intriguing. However, I felt disappointed by the ending, it was too convoluted (and too long) for it's own good, in my opinion. Still, I had enough fun with the game to actually complete it 100%. Honestly, I had pretty fun visiting different villages and doing quests for them. I also loved the jetpack which made traversal more fun, if a bit janky. Environments felt appropriately alien-y too and the variety in the biomes made for interesting visual variety. In the end, I highly recommend it.

This review will spoil the first act of the of the game, so please stay away if you are sensitive to the spoilers. I realized Cyberpunk 2077 is something special, when I played the quest "Heroes" at the beginning of the Act 2. This quest is about the wake of a major character who died at the end of the Act 1. This quest has no action, no chase sequences, nothing. But, what it had was bunch of people celebrating the life of one guy and mourning of the loss of that guy. The writing of this quest is just beautiful , one of the best I have ever seen in any game. The atmosphere that the game created felt genuine, unforgettable. Performances (both voice and mo-cap) are amazing. Even the first person cutscenes feels real. There is something amazing here. This quest made me realize that CDPR made something really special with this game, with a focus of a cast of unforgettable characters, amazing worldbuilding (rivaling that of The Witcher)( Night City is so well realized that I never fast travel in this game because just traversing the roads of this city is an amazing experience on it's own) and plain fun gameplay. If you love story-driven games, this game is a must buy, in my humble opinion. I am just glad that CDPR didn't give up on this game and turned it into a game that it deserved to be.
