I've played this game twice and frankly the second playthrough was better than the first. The story was wonderful and very well developed. The characters had depth and personality. Voice acting was top notch. I saw a review that indicated game play was easy. I did not find this to be so. I really had to think about some of the solutions and I admit I resorted to seeking hints to make some progress. If you have not played this game, buy it. You will love it. I plan to go back and try different endings. This was a very immersive game for me. I hated to get to the ending as I wanted it to continue. I just saw Wormwood is coming out with a new game, Strangeland, and it is already on my wishlist!

I bought it on a whim as reviews were good on several sites and it was on sale. Games was good, but a little syrupy sweet so I could only play for short periods. The storyline is kind of strange as it seems darker than what I expected with a nod to science but not with an ending I expected. Some of the puzzles were not intuitive so I did have to refer to a walkthru occassionally. But all in all, I was entertained. One thing was the various pronunciations of names and other words by the voice actors. I am curious about the protocols normally used to ensure all actors are consistent. Voice acting in this game was very good except for that one thing.

I was a bit daunted at the beginning as I could make no progress and had to resort to a walkthru. Thankfully, the game evened out for the most part and I only peeked at the WT a few times until the conclusion. Storyline was fun but then again I always like dystopian adventures. The art and writing painted a bleak picture of the future. I got about 16 hours from the game but I always check out everything at least once and yes, some time was devoted to being stuck. My only complaints - I wished inventory would have self-deleted after its intended use and a few obtuse inventory puzzles. Worth a play by all means.

Good memories of playing this game way back when. Still fun but I found the graphics wanting when you have to find certain items to further gameplay. Secondly, the "death" instances were a pain when you were trying to figure out what to do especially at the end. Oh well, as I said, good memories. That's a 4 rating in 1990s currency.

More of a 3.5 than a 4. Resorted to use of the walkthru several times as some actions just were not intuitive. I didn't enjoy this one as much as I seemed to be stuck frequently. I found the asylum time somewhat tediuous. You had plenty of actions to figure out and a lot of inventory so it was difficult. I liked the 2d game better than this one.

I was looking forward - I loved Ether One. When I heard it was timed, that was a concern. But I still bought it. After my first run through I have these thoughts-- *If you are an "early to arrive" person in RL, the timed setting will drive you nuts. RL I arrive abt 15 min before a meeting. It is hard to break the habit in this game but if you don't you lose opportunity. Timed games are not good for early arrivers. *Spatial understanding. I cannot function without a map. I have no spatial awareness of how things connect so trying to figure out where I am and where I am supposed to be was horrible. That said, at the end of the game, I had the bad ending because I did not accomplish anything. Even when I knew what I was supposed to do I could never get back to where I was supposed to be. *Mechanics. This game had such possibilities but I could not enjoy them as the mechanics were a pain. As a side note, I just finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution so I was used to doors opening, climbing stairs easily, drawers opening, etc. This game was a chore. Why did I have to press extra buttons AWSD to open or close a drawer. Why was I limited to one inventory item that frankly screwed me over as I had a diskette but apparently lost it when I "traded" items and didn't realize it. Why did I get notes that disappeared into my portfolio but I didn't get to read & didn't have time to find them. *Gameplot. Honestly, I didn't really get what I had to do for most of the game. Oh, yes, I understood the concept of what was happening but didn't get what I was supposed to do with reels and cards and diskettes. And when I did get it, I couldn't find my way back to where I needed to go bc I was lost, didn't have the right ID card, or ran out of time. Yes I will go back for a 2d run & may use a walkthru to better access the fun parts of the game. I understand the point of the timed game, but don't really see the value when the point of a game is to enjoy it and have fun.

Happy to find a good, solid game. I played Tad and Dr. Richmond and liked all the puzzles. A few were annoying (glad for walkthrus). Worth buying to revisit Stauf's mansion and play the 20+ puzzles. I thought I had done a good job finding VIP names but I missed a few. Enjoyed this one. Good Job!!

Game was good. Characters were good. Voice acting seemed professional. The plot was a bit muddy but maybe because I played off and on over a couple of weeks. Art was good. Solid mechanics. I would recommend as I enjoyed it and some of the puzzles were quirky so that was great.

I liked this game. Story was good, though sometimes a bit easy. The cases were harder as they progressed. The characters were interesting. Sometimes Bill was a bit much. I noticed the homage to Gabriel Knight so that was cool. Worth buying and playing. Well done!!
