It's difficult. Requires lot of time to learn. But it has something special that pushes you to overcome the difficulties. The feeling of a dangerous planet and the unknown you can discover is special. My favourite strategy.
Jak na razie najlepsze drużynowe RPG w jakie grałem. Dość długa rozgrywka więc dzielę na etapy ale ciągle wracam. Miałem dwa lata przerwy , wróciłem do starego zapisu i pamiętałem wszystko co się działo, mogłem śmiało kontynuować, co świadczy o wielkości tej gry i poziomie immersji jaki daje świat gry.
This is review for Empires with DLC Persia plus the base fog2 game. I was sceptical that it will be another clone of Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron but no, I was wrong. This is a gem, with so many original mechanics that I'm was shocked. Last two years I was so bored with existing strategies, the only light was stellaris and Age of wonders 3 so I was looking for something new that will make me happy. I tried FOG2 Empires, I saw two videos on on YT and few positive reviews so why not? Now I can't stop playing, the gameplay is addictive and I can't even sleep well. I like turn based approach on main map and they way how they solved game progression, choices, even playing the same fraction will be each time different and exciting. Even starting as small tribal nation you can win with the big guys if you are smart. This is amazing game. If you can buy it both with the base FOG2 game please do it. It brings better connection with your army but even without it it's great. The dlc is worth trying as it introduces a lot of small flavours. Ok enough writing I have another turn to play with of my Picts Empire.
Not what I've expected based on the videos and reviews. You can't use mouse scroll to zoom or change camera but you need to click on the buttons, no real plot, your options are limited, the world feels empty and planets surface are only a small rectangle with a few buildings. Maybe the late game looks better who knows, but after 2h in the game there was nothing worth to play longer.
